After hours of travel, the twins returned to the Capital. Rattling past the civilian's lines, Albus's royal carriage headed towards an empty stone wall. The prince peeked his head outside, and the bricks levitated to reveal the castle's backside. Amano did his best to shut his gaping mouth.
Albus slumped back into the gilded cushions. "Though it's illegal to fetch these without a permit, I'll grant them a special case."
"They rescued you, only to put you in more danger!" Blanche shook her fists. "Who do they think they are?! I'll never understand your people's values!"
The carriage came to a halt, and red herb in hand, Amano and Akemi shoved their way past rowdy villagers. Weeaboo Jim's humble abode was a sight for sore eyes - the stone stairs, the dusty exterior, the cobblestone path. Better than a stupidly humid forest and dead royals.
"You're back," the merchant opened his door. "Any trouble getting it?"
Akemi rolled her eyes - was that a joke? After promising her ghostly doppelganger the prevention of a full-scale war, was that ALL he had to say? "Give it to him," she shot a look at her brother. "And then let's go."
Jim sniffed. "Why so cold?"
"Nothing. I'm just tired from the journey." Akemi looked up at the clouds. What did the future hold for her? And was her promise unattainable? Amano possessed great magical prowess. On the other hand, her swordsmanship could be compared to a child obsessed with fantasy shows. Where was her power? Her usefulness?
"By the way," Amano darted his eyes away from Jim's, "The Knights are here- they followed us on Albus's orders."
The merchant bit his lip. "You could've told me sooner! Now they think I'm a drug lord!"
"Then who exactly are you?"
"Simple - a wandering merchant, to make a living," he shoved the herb down his messenger bag. "I'm a doctor - well, doctor-in-training. I travel to gather medicinal ingredients absent in most merchants' inventories. As much as this herb induces a state of euphoria, mind you, it treats seizures and muscle spasms!"
"So it really IS weed," Amano snickered, climbing up the stairs to join his sister. "See you around, Weeaboo Jim." The merchant simply smirked, waved, and retreated inside his home.

The Castle of Yeet proudly stood in the center of the Capital. Amano stared at the stones beneath his feet; they assembled a mosaic of white and yellow roses. Knights in shining silver armor patrolled the area; their metal boots creaked with every step. The castle's ocean of flowers made sidewalks its docks. Akemi wondered if Moros and Keres envied the Yeetian royals.
"This way, Your Highnesses," a knight gestured to the looming gilded gates. "Prince Moros and Princess Keres enters the Domain of Yeet!"
Amano covered his eyes from the blinding light. It was just like the movies - gaudy chandeliers, marble tiles and columns, and the widest stairway he's ever seen. Oil paintings of Yeetian royals covered the golden fleur-patterned wallpaper. Whose grand foyer could ever rival this?
