Akemi and Amano struggled to make a decision. They still had an obligation to fulfill that promise they gave Keres and Moros. How could they do that when they were leading the Revenant army? Not to mention, their relative experience in battle? Little to none. There was no way they were fit to lead an army. This wasn't some game or some random fanfic on Wattpad. People die when they are killed. And there was no going back to save them if they made a mistake. Kleine, on the other hand, had plenty of time to mull over his decision. His time had started the moment he fell down here and heard their plight. Back then, he was in the same position as the twins: confused, conflicted, and scared. Now, though, now he was ready to answer them.
"I'll do it."
The two siblings looked at Kleine in shock. "You're accepting?! Already?!" Akemi exclaimed, still in disbelief over the situation.
"Well, I've had more time to think about it than you two have, but yeah." He nodded. "This is probably our best way out, after all. We'll have an army to back us up and we won't have any messy obligations to a side getting in our way of the orbs."
"Uh, you don't have any messy obligations." Amano pointed out. "We have literal ghost promises we have to fulfill. Plus, didn't you serve under Albus and Blanche? You don't feel any guilt towards doing this to them?"
"Well..." Kleine closed his eyes, contemplating. "I suppose...but if we're in charge of the armies, we won't have to leave all the war decisions to, uh..." He gave a slight nod over to the furious man behind him. "...that guy."
The twins looked over at each other. Well, he did have a point. It would be better for them to be in charge of the armies in order to minimize any losses from either side. From what they've heard from...that guy, whatever his name was, he seemed way too keen on shedding blood in order to fulfill their goals. Plus, it's not like Yeet would readily accept them with open arms, and joining with Yami meant having to eventually explain to Nero that his siblings were dead, which, quoting Moros, "would start a mass murder."
"Akemi..." Amano started his sentence before thinking against it and shuffling back away from her and Kleine.
Akemi nodded in agreement, not needing him to say anymore. "Yeah, I know..."
The two of them looked over at Kleine. "You're one of our only true allies in this world so, we'll follow you." Akemi gave him a thumbs up.
Kleine smiled at them. "We're all in this together, then!"
"Absolutely!" The twins agreed.
"Words cannot describe how indebted we are to you for this." Lucille said with a slight bow. "On behalf of my people, thank you so much."
"Oh my god I forgot you were still there, listening." Amano facepalmed.
"I was also here. Listening." The angry war man pointed out.
