Tensions continued increasing between Yeet and Yami. As leader of the stealth division, Akemi returned to the surface with a handful of Revenant scouts. Her mission: stalk, observe, get intel, and retreat.
Days passed by, and she came back with stinging cuts and bruises, which Amano carefully tended to.
"It was awful," the sister complained, her blood boiling with hell's wrath. "If those guards weren't the best, then how do we stand a chance?"
Amano and Kleine spent hours listening to her adventures, from the moment she emerged from the crystal-studded caves, to the eavesdropping near a temporary Yeetian camp, to the battle against Yamian scouts. "It was terrible just trying to escape," she pressed a finger on a former wound. "I felt like they sliced through my bones."
After chugging down sedative tea, she dipped into a well-deserved slumber.

As undead beings, Revenants possessed immortality and incredible recovery speeds, so it took no time at all for the scouts to report their findings. While Akemi rested in bed, Amano and Kleine summoned her units in a private conference room, located beneath the mansion floorboards.
They started off their intel with Nyx's withdrawal of troops. Yeetian civilians questioned Yamian motives; after all, she did almost declare war. Such news became talk of the town, and consequently, tensions escalated.
Perhaps such high-ranked assassins only appeared to secure Nyx's safety while crossing through the Cliffs. Though the Revenants possessed lethal speed and strength, Dark countered Soul, and they barely escaped with their lives.
"This is concerning," Kleine leaned back, almost knocking down a barrel. "Maybe we weren't as overpowered as we thought we were."
"Sir, we're a meager number of two-hundred! And against tens of thousands of soldiers on the battlefield? We'd be captured before you know it!"
"I understand, Scout. But we need to act quickly before Nyx reports to her fiancé Nero, acting King of Yami."
The Revenant leaders joined the rendezvous, and within minutes, light banter turned into heated discussion. Lucille favored quieter operations, while Lucien opposed holding back his strength. With their conflicting visions, the conference became divided, and it became harder to hold a neutral stance.
Kleine begged the council to consider an alliance with Yami, but Lucien stood his ground. "Look at your sister," he turned to Amano, cowering in his seat. "Cut by the knives of Yamian assassins! No more no less! And you expect her to be nice to them?!"
And then, one brave scout proposed the perfect opportunity to take Yamian orbs: the Festival of Twins, a yearly funeral parade for Moros and Keres. Nero believed the noise would guide his younger siblings back home, or that the country's prayers would reach Sin, who would pass fair judgment on their souls.
"That's cruel, to take advantage of Nero's loss," Amano narrowed his eyes, "But it sounds like the only option we have."
Lucien claimed the festivities would take place in a matter of days and suggested to raid Yami during such a time of vulnerability. Lucille assumed Nyx wouldn't report her failure, in fear that Nero would break down, or worse, destroy himself. While they were under his care, she recalled, he shielded them all threats, no matter the size.
Amano gulped. Moros and Keres might've sneaked out to escape their brother's overprotectiveness and prove themselves worthy of a royal title. Thinking about the results made his skin shiver and heart drop.
