The next day Sweets woke up before me and everyone else. He made us all breakfast and he made Gianna and hangover shake, which she greatly needed. We were all in a really good mood from last night. Except Gianna, she wishes she partied alittle less. But boy does she love her Jack Daniels. That day we go to school and everyone is looking at their phones. I look around confused. Toni runs up to us, "Guys, Hiram Lodge got locked up again." I look at her confused. "Wait what? What will happen with the prison?" Fangs asks looking at us. Oh no, will Southside reopen? Cheryl looks impatient and upset.
"How's Veronica?" Cheryl sighs, "She punched Reggie in the face. He got knocked out and she's in with the principle right now." Cheryl says and I look up at Sweet Pea and he shakes his head and looks away. I see Veronica wall out of the principles and she notices everyone staring at her. "What? Do you guys want a picture of the devil incarnates daughter?! Come on use the flash let's go." She says crying. I run over and grab her arm and I take her to the bathroom. She starts just sobbing and she hugs me. I hug her tightly. "Why are you here for me Victoria?" She asks and I shrug. "You were there for me at times where I needed you, now you need me." I say and she smiles a little bit and then walks over to the sink. She looks at herself and pulls off her necklace. She just kept crying. I walk over and hug her. "Veronica it's okay." I say hugging her and she just sobs. Betty runs in and it becomes a trio hug. "Ronnie it's okay."
Betty says in a soft voice and Veronica shakes her head. "We are gonna lose so much." She says and I sigh. "If you ever need somewhere to stay you can stay at my house, it's no Pembrook but it's something." She looks at me and nods and smiles. Betty smiles at me too. "I don't know why we didn't become close friends sooner Victoria." Veronica says and I shrug. "I don't know either." I say laughing alittle. "I heard what you did to Reggie." I say and she looks down. "He just pissed me off. He was in the line of fire I guess." She says and I nod. We walk out and I guess someone got the attention to die down because no one really paid attention.
My day was spent the same, thinking and daydreaming about Sweet Pea.. just about last night kinda. I wonder when will the day be when Fangs and Gianna doesn't walk in on us? As the day ends Gianna, Fangs, Sweets, Toni Cheryl and I went to Pops. We all ordered our usual. Gianna and Fangs gave each other a look and kept smiling at us. Cheryl kept looking out for Pops, and Toni keep telling Cheryl to stop looking. I look at them confused and I look at Sweets. "What?" I look at them and all of them shrugs but Sweets has this smirking look. I knew something was up.
After a bit Pop comes out with our food and he smiles while putting my plate down. There was a small box. Oh shit he wasn't asking to purpose was he? I looked at him. "Open the box." I nod and smile. I open it and it was a ring with a small sapphire heart on a silver skinny band. "What's this?" I ask and he smiles. "Victoria I know we've been through a lot but I want you to know I love you. More than anything. I want this to be a promise, that I love you and I will always be devoted to you. And that even though we aren't together, when you're ready I'll be here. And no matter what I will always protect you." He says and I smile. He puts the ring on my ring finger. Pop started to clap and so did everyone else. I hugged Sweets. "You are good with words for such a goof." I whispered in his ear and he laughed.  "I helped him pick that out. I knew it would complement you really well." She says and I smile and laugh softly. "Thanks Cheryl." I say and she smiles.
The rest of the day was amazing. We all hung out and had fun. That night we went to the Wyrm. Fp made a announcement about how Southside will be abandoned for now and that it's our territory. He said that no Ghoulies should be allowed in at any circumstance. He was up to something and for once, I wasn't dying to find out. But why did Hiram get arrested. I didn't feel like asking Veronica why right now was the smartest decision but I was gonna wait for the fire to sizzle out.
Then in walked my father who looked like him and FP were having a serious conversation. I guess they felt a presence looking at them because they looked around and my mom looked at me with sad eyes. I rolled my eyes and went and hung out with my friends not caring.
But let's be honest, how long will this not caring attitude last until the next horrible thing happened to me.
