It was about 12am when I was rudely awoken by the kick of my babygirl. She was thrashing around harshly in my stomach.
"Babygirl I want you here to, but it's not time yet".
Bakari and I decided upon a home birth, I didn't know why he wanted that but he did. I didn't deny him of it, but he had a luxury pool for me to be in when I did give birth.
I went ahead and leaned up in bed, feeling all over my belly. Late at night I went ahead and order Uber eats, lots of McDonald's I ordered.
I rose from the bed, Bakari still in a deep sleep. I walked down the inhumane amount of stairs to collect the food.
The person was right at the door handing me the food that I had paid for. I smiled my mouth drooling and I closed the door.
Back upstairs in my room I laid the food out all over the bed. I laid back and placed the dipping sauce on my belly, it was my little tray. I grabbed some nuggets and started eating away.
Bakari awoke to the smell of the food I had ordered. "Hey baby". I smiled while taking another bite from a nugget. "There's a Big Mac, and a 20 piece nugget on your night stand". He looked over seen the food then looked towards me with a smile.
"Always coming prepared babygirl". He smiled and while mid bite of my nugget I giggled and continued eating.
I felt his hand on the lower part of my belly. Thinking about my life up until this point, everything was shit for me.
My childhood had its ups and downs, I mean my babysitters boyfriend knocked me clean out as a 2 year old. My dad had to give up his entire life for me, when he could have easily gave me up for adoption or foster care.
He didn't and that led to me being the strong woman that I am today. College was hard, double harder than it had to be. Me not having many friends led me to do bad things, which indeed helped with my popularity, but destroyed my health. I was blind to everything that was happening around me and I didn't care.
My eyes were closed from everything around me, nobody really had the courage to help me see the light. All they did was drag me away from it, and I was no better. Letting them drag me from away from the light.
But eventually I was saved by Reece, but that didn't stop me from the issues that came from Donavan and Destiny. It seems not confronting them head on led to more issues than ignoring them.
Bakari getting into a accident led to my life seeming like it was sinking into a dark hole. I was falling real hard into the dark hole with my heart wide open.
Until that dream with Bakari led me to finally find myself again. Let me know that Bakari was apart of my life, he wasn't my life. That even though if he'd pass... my life would still have to go on.
He helped me to find myself and I loved him. Even if he was asleep while it happened. "Bakari, you know, while you were still sleeping I had a dream".
"What kind of dream". He smiled
"You showed up in our hotel room, laying down with me and helped me to sleep". I giggled smiling at the remembrance.
"You so cute". He complimented, staring deep into my eyes. His eyes was stripping me, looking right through me. I enjoyed the feeling of his intense gaze over me. Bakari had that impression on people. His look was intimidating, his attitude didn't match. He was a big sweetheart and I loved it, big and strong enough to scare off men and nice when around me.
