Settle DownIt was still dark out when Kirsnick's day started. His assistant would quietly push his door open and quickly but quietly walk to his bedside to turn on the lamp on his bedside table. Ms. Jones was an older woman, much older, way too old in Kirsnick's opinion to be doing the job of keeping track of him.
"Get your ass out this bed," she said sternly before turning and heading toward the door. "You gone be late for your first meeting."
Kirsnick groaned and sat up in the bed. He wanted to reach over and turn the light off, just roll over and go right back to sleep but that wasn't an option. He rolled out of bed and got dressed quickly. By the time he got downstairs his coffee was made and his breakfast was ready even though he wasn't going to eat it. He grabbed the coffee and headed toward the front door to get in the car.
"There are..." Ms. Jones flipped tapped loudly on the iPad in her hands trying to zoom in the font that was already so big that only about five words could fit on the page. "Three meetings today, an interview, and you have expense reports to review."
"Sounds like a busy day," he said while looking through the window. Every morning he had his driver pass through the neighborhood where he grew up.
"You know there's faster ways to get to the office," Ms. Jones said to him.
"i like this way," he replied simply. She looked at him for a second before turning her attention back to the iPad.
"Would you like me to read your emails now or do you want to wait until we get to the office?" she asked.
"The office," he replied.
Most of kirsnick day was comprised of this. Ms. Jones asked him questions and he answered them. She kept up with the schedule and he followed it. He ate lunch in his office while he signed off on papers and replied to emails and after lunch it was back to meetings.
If you would have stopped him on the street five years prior you would have never guessed he would be where he is now. Sitting in a private office with an assistant that plans out every minute of his day while he pulled in more money than hell ever need.
His office door opened but he didn't look up to greet who was coming through the door because he already knew who was walking through the door. He dropped the pen on top of the paper and flexed his fingers.
"You not gonna say hey to your favorite uncle nigga?" Quavious strutted into the office and sat down in one of the chairs positioned across from his desk. Kirsnick looked up at his uncle and shook his head.
"I would have if you woulda knocked like a grown up." He said pointing back toward that door that his uncle had coincidentally left wide open. He shook his head again. He hates when somebody walks into his office and leaves the door open weather they're coming inside or not. The whole point of having a door is so that he could have it closed.
"Oh, my bad," Quavious got up from the chair and proceeded to cross the room and slam the door shut make the paintings on the walls shake.
"Go ahead and break it," Kirsnick said.
"You complain about every damn thing. You're making me regret even coming over here." He replied.
"No, I don't. You're just loud, and you act like you came from across town or some shit all you did was walk down the hallway." Kirsnick told him.
"And nigga, what's your point?" he asked.
Kirsnick sucked in a deep breath. He enjoyed talking to his uncle most of the time, and he wanted a distraction from the stacks of papers on his desk, but he knew that his uncle wasn't just visiting his office for no reason.
