Holidays

To make us look like a real couple we also have to go out when we get invited to things. Even though I haven't been going out for long I know that it isn't something that I enjoy. I've spent so much of the little free time that I've ever had sitting at home and that's where I'm comfortable, but this is something that I have to do to play the part. Kirsnick held my hand tightly as he led me through the room filled with his family and friends and over to a spot on the couch where I could sit down. We couldn't skip out on Christmas, I guess. This was the first time I'd been around most of his family since the wedding. A couple of them came over to me and tried to make small talk.

"You don't look like you're having fun at all." Kirsnick said into my ears as he sat down next to me. He handed me a can of coke which I took and opened. I looked over at him and saw that he was holding a red cup.

"What's that?" I asked him.

"A drink," he replied.

I rolled my eyes at him. It was a cup, obviously I knew that it was a drink. "Really, I was expecting something more along the lines of sugar cookies. What a surprise."

"You don't always have to be an asshole." he said taking a sip from the cup.

"Why didn't you get me a drink?" I asked.

"Do you drink?" he asked. I shook my head. "Well then why would I?"

"it's Christmas," I said.

He raised an eyebrow but reluctantly handed me the cup that he had in his hands. I took the cup and took a sip. I don't know what the hell he had in that cup, but it was brown and smelled like coke, but it was burning the back of my throat.

"Eww, what the hell is that?" I asked.

"See, you don't even like it," he took the cup back from me.

"You drink!?" I turned around and angel was looking at me with a face full of excitement. Before I could say no, she grabbed me by the hand and dragged me into the kitchen. A lot of the women where in the kitchen tending to the food, but since I don't cook and Kirsnick decided he was gonna announce it to the entire family when we were over for thanksgiving I wasn't even invited into the kitchen. Angel walked into the kitchen with me behind her like a dog on a leash. She grabbed a cup and started pouring things into it.

"Okay, before we get ahead of ourselves," I said. She looked over at me and laughed.

"Don't worry, it's mostly juice girl." she said. "No strong at all. I just didn't ask you if you wanted some, but I didn't know if you drank."

She placed the cup in my hand, and I looked at what was inside. I took a sip and to be honest there was still a little bit of a burn but whatever she gave me was way better than the shit that nick was drinking. I finished the cup, and she gave me another one, but that one came with a warning.

"don't drink it too fast, the liquor will sneak up on you." she said.

At the time I didn't know what she meant, but I took the cup and went back to me spot of the couch net to nick and the next thing I know the room started to feel like it was spinning.

"You okay?" Kirsnick asked.

I looked over at him and rolled my eyes. "You don't have to treat me like a baby you know."

I handed him the empty cup I was holding in my hand and got up from the sofa. There was a bonfire outside where they were sitting around and making smores. It was cold but the fire was doing a good job of keeping us warm. I ate a few smores and drank a few more drinks with angel before I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and Kirsnick was leaning over the back of my chair. The movie that was on the tv.
