Ellie's POV

What a weird day to start school. First, an arrogant guy wanted me to be his girl. What a jerk. Secondly, a group of spoiled brat cheerleading squad wanted me to join them. I don't get how showing your legs is going to boost an athlete's morale at all. Lastly, a guy bumped into me that made me shower in my own milk tea. And I am wearing my new clothes. It was nice of him to hand me his hoodie though. I was so curious how he looked at me. Was he blushing? And to top it all, I met his twin sister. Jane is nice. I believe her brother is named Sam. His hoodie feels comfortable. I was sitting beside him at school. I think he tried to steal few glance at me during the class we had together. Does he likes me? He doesn't look so bad. He looks sad though. I want to know more of him. Few minutes later of thinking I slowly drifted to sleep.

I woke up from a knock on the door.

"Miss, your dinner is ready."

It was Jenny, our maid. She and some staff are staying with me in this big house. My parents are always working. I wish they could spend more time with me.

"I'm coming." Eating alone really makes me loose my appetite everyday. "Jenny, will you sit with me in the table and eat with me?

"Of course, Miss. Now let's not get the food wait."

She is always nice to me. If I had a real parent, that would be her.

After dinner, I went to work on my homework. As I checked on my social media, I saw a friend request from Jane which I immediately accepted. I scrolled her photos and newsfeed. After a while, I got fixated on a particular boy. That's him. He is Sam. He look so cute in that beanie and hoodie. I saw a family photo. Their smiles were so real. I wish I could have a family photo like this. The next photo was of a funeral. Their mother died a year ago. Is that why he looks so sad? I wish I can see him smile like this in the photo. Before I went to bed, I took his hoodie and looked at it. It has a trace of spilled milk tea. It has a light trace of smell of cologne. I feel bad when I badmouthed him.

Next morning, I went on my daily routine. Last night I had Jenny washed the hoodie. I think it's gonna be my favorite outfit from now on. So I put it on top of my shirt. I went downstairs to see Jenny preparing food for me.

"Miss, your mother shall be arriving in two days time."

"She called?"

"Yes. She is asking how are you? And if you have adjusted in your new school?"

"Jenny, that doesn't sound like mom but thanks anyway."

I haven't seen her in ages. Even the time we moved here. And I only see dad for like 3 times this year. I don't need any riches or any luxury at any cost. I just want to see them and be home. Enough with the drama. I packed up my lunch in my bag. I usually get to school with by a car but today, Jane and her brother will be walking with me. I received a message saying they are already outside the doors. So I said goodbye to Jenny and head to the gate where my new friend is waiting.

I looked at the twins and Sam's reaction is so hilarious. I tried to hide my laughter by giving him a smirk. He then looked away just like yesterday. Ok, I think I am being evil now.

"Jane, where is your bike?"

"Well, I figured you won't be riding anything so I left it at home."

She is so nice to think about her friend. Moreover to disregard any means of comfort for them. So I came close to her and ask her about her brother. "Has he always look this grumpy?"

"Nah. He isn't grumpy at all. He is just embarrassed from yesterday's event."

"So he told you what happened?"

"I forced him to. After seeing you in his hoodie."

Now I suddenly become guilty.

"That is his favorite hoodie."

"Oh." I said. This is his favorite hoodie huh? What a stroke of luck. I would really like to get back to him from that milk tea incident. I might not return this hoodie for a while.

Inside the school, I am stopped by the same people as yesterday. Why wont they just give up? So Jane went to her class after waving goodbye.

"Hi, I'm LJ. I am the cheerleading squad captain. I want to recruit you. You look pretty. You should try out."

"Hi, LJ, I'm I.D.C." I replied sarcastically. "So leave me alone please."

"You shouldn't be rude, Bitch! I am being nice to you. You should be happy that a popular girl like me is talking to a lowlife person such as you."

"Well, I don't need your popular squad who got nothing to show but their ass and their cleavage."

"What did you say?" She screamed holding her hands and about to slap me.

On reflex i tried to avoid the hit and close my eyes. When I realized that there is no pain that went toward my face, I heard a voice of a familiar voice.

"That's enough!" He said.

I looked to confirm. It was him. He was holding the girl's arm and looking at me worriedly before looking back at the girl.

"Sam." The stupid girl said in a flirtatious way. Honestly, that annoyed me so much. "I haven't seen you in a while, Baby." Did she just called her Baby? Are they dating? After that, I saw her hands travelled from his face down to his chest. What the heck? I suddenly had the urge to kill this woman. When she was moving her head towards him to give him a kiss, I was praying for him to move. Gods have listened and he move his head away from her.

"LJ, just leave her alone. Don't force her to do something she doesn't want to." Is he trying to defend me? He looks so serious. This is new. This side of him is new to me. I thought he is just a cute and pathetic helpless boy but he did have that side with conviction.

The cheerleading squad left. He turned his gaze to me. He was seriously staring at me for few seconds before words came out of his mouth.

"A-are you ok?"

"Y-yeah, I guess."

"Class is about to start. We should be going." He said. He took my bag and walk ahead of me without asking my permission. I didn't complained and followed him to the room.

During break, some people casually greet me. I went to the canteen to eat. I see Jane waving at me and telling me to join them. Her brother isn't here.

"Where is Sam?"

"Prolly on the rooftop or practicing tricks."

"Don't worry. He has his lunch with him. He packs his lunch everyday so he doesn't have to eat at the school canteen. He hates crowd anyways."

Probably the truth. The place is crowded and messy. It was so different from the school where I have been. I brought lunch with me as well so I offered her some since I intentionally brought a lot hoping I could sit with them during lunch.

This is the second day the three of us walked together. It was really a nice day for me. Sam is still a little aloof but I couldn't forget what he did earlier. He is very brave and cool. But it also make me remember how angry I was with that bitch, LJ. I might wanna pull her hair next time he touches him.

It was really hard having to play with multiple POV in a book but I try so hard to convey other people's feelings and expectations. Also I updated without reaching my promise number of views coz why not? I am sad and inspired and I want that emotion flowing on me to be the source of thoughts to write this book. It might be not a very long one with hundreds of chapters in it. I was planning about 20-30. Also, thank you for reading. Especially to that person who i dedicate this book. You know who you are so I don't really need to say, right? I will give all my heart in this work. See y'all in mah next update.
