"Are you sure Brooke's mother is okay with you spending the night for a whole week—?" My mom crossed her arms. "I should give her a call."

"No." I panicked, blocking her from the phone. "I think she's at work right now."

"I don't know." She sighed. "It just seems so invasive to spend that long at someone else's house."

"It's winter break mom, we have nothing else to do."

"What are you gonna do about work—?" She began finding excuses for me not to go.

"I already sorted it out with my manager." I winked, as a gotcha there. "Amanda's cool with it."

"Well if that's the case, then I guess that's fine." She pursed her lips, forming a small pout. "So, I'm not gonna see you for a whole week."

"Think of the bright side of things." I placed my arm around her shoulder. "You and dad can have some alone time together."

"Forget I ever said that." I quickly hid my face, while running up stairs to my bedroom.

My suitcase was already packed, with the help of my next door neighbor. Just kidding, he didn't do shit.

"Alright mom, I'm leaving—!" I tried to shout while dragging my heavy luggage down the stairs.

"Rae wait, don't you dare take one step out of this house—!" She screeched while running towards me.

My fingers slipped away from the handles as I accepted her hug. My mother wiped away a few unnecessary tears, using a rag to wipe them away.

"I'll miss you sweetheart." She pursed her lips as if she were going to cry again.

"It's only a week mom." I gave her another quick hug before walking out the door. "Bye, I love you."

"Is Brooke here to pick you up—?" She sniffled.

"Yeah, her car's outside." I gave her a bright smile, and patted her back. "Goodbye mom."

"Way to make it emotional." She bawled into the rag, making me break down in giggles. "Bye sweetheart."

I picked up my duffel bag, taking that instead of a five ton suitcase. I gave my mom a quick wave before walking out to my porch. I closed the door behind me and walked towards the waiting car. The trunk was already open and filled with another suitcase.

"You can take the wig off now." I raised my brows, sitting comfortably in the passenger seat.

"They're my mom's extensions." Jimin hissed as he tried to roughly pull them out of his hair.
