Happily, I woke up that morning and thought about how I was meeting Josh that day. It was already 11am and I needed to get ready. It wasn't a date but it was still important that I looked good, and as I had nothing to wear, I had to go out and buy something.
So I put some jeans and a vest top on and made my way to buy a new dress. After a while, I had eventually found a dress and bought it. I arrived home and decided to start getting ready to meet Josh later that night. It was already 3pm and Josh was picking me up at 7 - I had gave him my address.
Next, I went for a shower, done my hair and make-up and got dressed. It was half past six so it was only half an hour till Josh arrived. I got my bag ready that I was taking with me. It was a small River Island bag that I had bought earlier that day as it went with my dress.
At 7pm, I sat waiting in my front room with my bag and coat ready to go, but Josh hadn't arrived yet. It got till quarter past and I started to get worried when I heard my phone buzz. I checked and it was a text from Josh saying he was on his way and that he had been running late.
About 10 minutes later, the door went and I answered it. Josh was stood there looking as handsome as ever. He was flawless. I locked the door and we walked to his car. He held the car door open for me as I got in and then he started driving.
"Where're we going?" I eagerly asked.
He winked at me and told me it was a surprise whilst looking straight into my eyes. I always got lost in his eyes. It just couldn't be helped.
"Josh..."
"Yea?"
"Erm... I'm just wondering if all of this is some sort of joke," He looked up at my eyes. "I mean it's fine if it was, it's just I would rather know."
He looked up at me and grabbed hold of my hand with his other on the steering wheel even though we were at the traffic lights. "Cheryl, this isn't a joke. It's just when I met you, I knew all of a sudden that I -"
Suddenly, someone beeped their horn behind us and I looked up and realised that the traffic lights were on green and Josh had forgotten to start driving. He started driving and we started talking about the tour and how much he was enjoying it with the lads.
I was listening to him, however I couldn't stop thinking about what he had been telling me. He knew all of a sudden when he met me that what...? Why did someone have to distract us? What if he was going to tell me that he liked me... or even loved me?
Don't be silly Cheryl. You've known each other like two minutes, plus he's famous; he's not going to be interested in you, I thought to myself.
Finally, Josh parked his car and we were outside a fancy restaurant I have never been to. In all my years of living in Manchester, I have went past this restaurant once or twice but I've never been inside.
I looked up at the sign and it was called 'Manchester House'. We went inside and Josh confidently asked for a table for two. The waiter guided us to our table and we sat down. A few minutes later, a different waiter, a young man, came over and asked us what drink we would like. Josh ordered us both an alcoholic drink and the waiter then asked us what the special occasion was. I looked at the waiter then at Josh waiting for him to answer. He then replied with something completely out the blue. " It's a good restaurant for first dates."
"Aw, young love." The waiter said smiling.
"Josh, this isn't our first date?" I told him, confused, after the waiter had walked away.
"Babe. I know it isn't but you never know in the future we could be on our first date. This is our first friend date." He said cheekily whilst grinning from ear to ear.
Embarassingly, I could feel my cheeks going red. What did he mean by one day we could be on our first date? Would Josh Cuthbert ever go on a date with me? Wow.
After our meal, Josh decided he wanted to go out to a club as it was only 10pm and he didn't want to go back yet. We got back in the car and drove towards the city centre and parked the car. Josh had to put his hood up and wear a scarf as we were walking through town and he didn't want to get mobbed by fans.
We arrived at a club/bar in Manchester called K2. Once we walked in, Josh walked over to the bar and I followed him. He bought us both a drink and we went to dance.
I was dancing with Josh Cuthbert - it was so much fun, we were having the time of our lives, laughing so much our bellies hurt, at each others ridiculous dance moves.
At about 1am, we decided it was time to go so Josh decided to drive me home. The drive back home took about half an hour so we listened to the radio on the way back and we both sang along. A Union J song came on and Josh started laughing as I started singing at the top of my voice, as I knew all the words - I think I may of been drunk.
We were lost in the middle
Like bottles in the ocean
But we found one another
Like the answer to a question
Like words to a love song
Like a river to the red sea
Finding you was so hard
But loving you is easy
Me and Josh were both singing in the car to all the different songs on the radio when we eventually arrived at my house. I got out the car and so did Josh to say goodbye.
As I turned around to walk into my house after we had both said goodbye, I felt his grip around my waist as he pulled me back and turned me around. He wrapped his arms around me and we hugged. It felt like we were melting into each other, the warmth of his body against mine. I felt safe and like I never wanted this moment to end. The hug was just perfect and when it was over, I couldn't help feeling sad.
I waved at Josh as I opened my front door and walked in. He shouted "Bye!" across the street from his car even though it was nearly two in the morning.
Brushing my teeth getting ready for bed, I heard my phone go off. I checked it and I had a text message from Josh. It said:
"Night princess. What a fun first friend date that was. ;) Hope to see you again soon? Sweet dreams, night babe :) xxx"
I couldn't help smiling, and as I lay there in bed that night, I couldn't help but realising that yes... I was in love with Josh. I guess you can't choose who you love... especially when they are as amazing as Josh. But I still wasn't sure if he was leading me on and this was all some sort of joke... but what if it wasn't and he geniunly liked me? Or were we really just friends?
