The first thing that I notice is how long Dean's brother's hair is.
It's brown and hanging down in slight waves around his face.
He smiles up at me from a textbook he is reading at the table.
"Hey, you're Castiel, right?"
I nod.
"Yes, I am, and you are?"
"Sam", he tells me, staring absently back at his book.
I nod, again.
Finally, Dean speaks up.
"So um yeah, Sam's my little brother, Cas. He's a bit of a nerd."
Sam looks up at Dean, with a expression of distaste.
I pull my trench coat tighter around me, feeling self conscious.
"Um, do you maybe- I do not know- have a washroom?", I ask them both, my face hot.
Sam nods.
"Yeah sure, it's right down there. I'll show you."
I nod gratefully, and start to follow Sam, as he gets up from the chair.
As I follow him, I look back at Dean.
He smiles back at me, as I try not to blush.
In the bathroom, I see pictures on the walls.
A woman, man, and two young boys.
One still no doubt, in diapers.
The man is smiling, as is the woman and the two boys on either side of her.
Both boys have brownish hair as does the man, but the woman in the photograph has more like blonde hair.
They are outside, standing by what appears to perhaps be: their house.
It is a nice house, fairly large.
The scene makes me realize that it is somewhere different.
Somewhere nicer.
Looking at the photo now, I suddenly feel sad.
Which is weird.
Angels like myself are not supposed to express, let alone, feel emotions.
I force my eyes from the picture and open the door.
Sam is standing right there, looking worriedly at me.
"Something wrong...Cas?"
I quickly shake my head.
"No, why would you say that?"
He does not say anything more, just smiles and leads me back to where Dean is.
Now, he is sitting in a chair at the table.
Eating pie.
Cherry, I think, but can not be sure.
He does not notice us, when we sit down in chairs opposite him.
Just, continues devouring his confectionary delight.
My eyes flit across his face, curious for a reason I can not explain.
He suddenly looks up at me.
His face, now covered in patches of red cherry filling, a cherry stuck to his chin.
"You want some?", he asks, holding out the almost empty pie tin to me.
I shake my head.
He shrugs and than continues eating.
I hear a chair squeak, and look up to see Sam walking back to what I guess is his bedroom.
But, my eyes are still fixated on Dean.
"Something wrong, Cas?", he asks, stabbing the last slice with a plastic fork.
The filling drips slowly down his face, colouring the stubble on it red.
I stare at the cherry that still stays stuck to his chin.
"You have um, a little..."
He looks up, cocking his head to one side.
"I have, what?"
I can feel my face getting hotter.
"Something on your... Here, hold still. I will get it off...", I say, leaning over towards him.
His eyes widen, but he does not pull back when my hand brushes against his face.
I lick my lips nervously, as I attempt to remove the cheery from his face.
"Right there."
My finger flicks the cherry off his chin, making a noise as it hits the pie tin.
Slowly, I bring my trembling hand away from his face.
There are a million voices in my head that tell me what I am thinking about is wrong and, I am positive they are the other angels.
Maybe even, God himself.
Dean does not seem fazed by any of this though, he just licks the remaining filling off his face.
Once he is done, he leans back in his chair, putting his feet on the table.
"So, you don't like pie?"
I swallow, watching him, my heart for some reason pounding rapidly.
"Um no actually, I have never tried it."
