"I haven't been here in ages.", I say, as we take a seat at a long plush booth.
Cas slides in across from me.
"What do you mean?", he asks, looking at my with those big blue eyes of his.
I sigh, slouching slightly in the booth.
"The last time that I came here, was with Lisa."
The words feel bitter as they leave me.
Cas doesn't seem to notice though, just smiles and nods, sadly.
"So, you must have taken it pretty hard. I mean, when she got engaged to the biology teacher."
I nod, letting him know that yes, I DID take it hard and that I hated her for it.
Still do.
"When did you get over her? I mean, that must have taken quite a while."
"Yes Cas, it did. It took longer than I ever thought it would."
A pause.
"But, do you know what made me finally get over her? Move on?"
He shakes his head, unsure.
"No. What was it, Dean?"
I smile up at him.
He's now waiting for my answer, chewing in his straw as he does at the diner.
Some people nearby give us nasty looks and not just because he's chewing on a straw.
I ignore them, and instead resume our conversation.
"You. You were the one who made me forget her and move on."
I can't be sure, but I think that I see tears forming in his eyes.
He blinks to get rid of them before, I notice.
I chuckle softly at that.
He's just so cute.
I sometimes wonder why it took me so long to see that.
"Dean.", he says, voice more hoarse than usual.
"Was that when you realized that you loved me? How come you never told me about this?", he says, chewing tentatively on his straw.
"Well Cas, we haven't exactly been together for that long and besides, I didn't think I'd never get the chance..."
He nods, clearly understanding.
"Dean, it's okay. Believe me when I say that, I did not believe that I'd ever get to know you this well. Much less as an acquaintance."
He's right, I think.
We both never knew that something like this could happen.
Never even had a clue.
When I was younger, had somebody told me that I'd fall in love with a angel much less a guy, I wouldn't have believed them.
But what do you know, I did.
I've fallen for a angel of The Lord who just so happens to be in a male vessel, that has bright blue eyes, and wears a trench coat.
It's unreal, really.
Yet, it happened to me.
We sit in a comfortable silence, till the food comes.
As we eat (burgers of course) we talk about things, like our brothers, school, and more about our family backgrounds.
