Piece of Mind

The air was plain and cold; the oil lamp that sat besides her emitted a faint, soft glow. The trees wavered slightly, the owls hooted and their watchful gazes flickered through the woods. Fireflies buzzed around, tiny sparkles fluttering about. The trees waved slightly back and forth in the wind and the galaxy was reflected onto the calm lake. A full moon was out tonight as a petite girl with bubblegum hair sat, her elbows propped on her knees, face resting in her palms, staring at the still body of water.
How pretty, she thought to her herself. Sakura longed for more peaceful nights like this. She wished that if everyone could stop whatever they were doing, and come out to witness the beauty of silence.
"I bet they'd say the same thing," she would tell herself, "even if they saw it just once, the beauty is truly out of a dream."
So many times. So many times she'd wish to end it all, to sleep forever to never return. But somehow, every time she sees this, it fills her with a false sense of hope. Hoping that she would go on in this horrible nightmare just to see peace once more.
But what is peace? She'd ask herself over and over.
I don't know. She frowned
May be it doesn't exist.
"Tch. Leave now."
Rude.
Sakura gritted her teeth, snapping her eyes shut.
I can't leave, have you forgotten? I'm a part of you silly.
She ignored it all, everything that she spoke was trash and terrible things anyway. But they were true. Without further ado, the pinkette got up; hastily walking back towards the cold house.
You can't run forever dear. The words sung in her mind. A dark chuckle rang through her ears, head pounding she winced at the pain.
You should know by now.
I always win.

"We were once the best of friends."
"....But then you took her away from me."

She stood in the bathroom, hands gripped harshly on the sink, a scowl was set on her face as she glared daggers at the reflection in the mirror. She laughed. What's wrong dear? Did you get nightmares?
It doesn't matter anyway, soon I will escape and there's nothing you can do to stop me. She was met with no reply.
Konoha will burn. That was the last string; with one swift punch, the glass was shattered into a million pieces. It shone and sparkled in the light like a thousand stars, but were sharp blades that tore through flesh. Her laughter echoed throughout the entire house whiles Sakura's arm was bloodied. She curled into a ball and began to whimper. All those fun times with her friends. Is it truly worth living in this nightmare?

The air was filled with smoke, and the skies looked as if it were red. Crimson liquid was everywhere. Ino hastily got up, ignoring the headache and wincing from the slight pain she stumbled around for sometime, gaining balance. Her vision was hazy, her breath was like if it was running away. She stuttered before falling back down, coughing up some blood. Her vision became sharp; she widened her eyes in shock.
Her once blonde hair was now covered in dirt and something else she did not quite recognized, her clothes were tattered and her body bruised. Ignoring the pungent odor that filled the air, she got up, slowly limping around.
Fire was everywhere, buildings were destroying or on the verge of collapsing. But what scared her the most were the bodies. They were everywhere. Bits of severed limbs scattered about. In all the place looked like shit. She couldn't take it anymore. Making a quick turn she ran and ran, as fast as her feet would carry her. For a minute she felt as if it would go away, but only to fall back down again. She gritted her teeth and forced herself to look up, and the screamed in horror.
There, lying on the ground, half of his body was crushed by the fallen debris, left arm mutilated severely, eyes dead and dull. It was Shikamaru.
Ino awakened almost immediately, her heart was beating fiercely and her breaths were rapid. She was scared. Turning her head side to side, releasing a breath she didn't know she was holding in after seeing it was just her room. She laid back down and stared at the ceiling.
"What kind of dream was that?"
