The sunlight was dimmed through the canvas of the tent. They had set up camp in literally the middle of nowhere. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. The visions. They kept coming back. He couldn't figure out why, or how. Sasuke supposed that it had something to do with the lookalike he saw at the cliff (or maybe not a lookalike but he was still lost on that theory).
He would sometimes feel emotions, that didn't belong to him, deep regret and guilt, immense sadness and pain. He had no idea what was happening to him. His brother would cross his mind, and the clan massacre. But he would see it differently.
It was him that held the sword.
It was him that murdered his people.
It was him that killed his parents.
Or maybe someone else?
What he was told by the authorities contradicts what he saw in the visions or memories maybe. He sighed yet again. More questions. More mysteries.
"What are you hiding, brother?"
"Uh, you okay in there?" A voice, which he recognized as Suigetsu, question.
"Hn." He heard shuffling outside and then nothing. He shook his head and laid down.
He needed answers.
And he wasn't getting them by himself.
He had to find Itachi. Get him to explain.
Something was happening in Konoha. He needed to know.
Something's not right.

Shikamaru pulled the hood over his head even more. Passers by pushed him around, but he didn't care. He was scared. Dried tears stained his face, the blood still splattered on his now ruined clothes.
It wasn't his. It was his father's.
He killed his father.
And the worst part is, he felt no remorse.
He enjoyed it. He wanted more.
It scared him to death.
He quickly bolted into an alleyway. Panting and coughing, he watched as his shadow molded into a more physical form. "What happened?!" He yelled at the creature in seething rage. Shadow chuckled darkly, "That had nothing to do with me," he paused to see the confusion written all over the Nara's face, "it was your fault. You were to accept me, but you chose to fight the power. You went out of control." Shikamaru's eyes widened.
"You're not human, hybrid. None of us was in control, because you refused to accept me as your other half." He looked down, ashamed and guilty. "Why did I enjoy it?" He spoke, barely above a whisper.
The Shadow smiled darkly at the boy, "Because demons cannot love. Don't lie. You loved the taste of his bl-"
"SHUT UP!" He screamed loudly. A few people turned to him but he growled at them. Shadow laughed, but it was humorless.
"You can pretend all you want, Shikamaru. But in the end," Shadow watched as his eyes became empty, his face expressionless,
"You're still a monster."
