Salty Smile

He remebered the scent of rotten flesh, and smoke. He remebered the colour red being splayed harshly, painting the grounds like a painter on white canvas. His mind was clouded with micellaneous thoughts; they all drew blank. Staring at those wild crimson orbs that held no mercy, not an ounce of emotion other than lust: bloodlust.
He remebered the metallic liquid that left a rustic taste in his mouth; how he loved it. The grin on her face was painful to look at. He knew, because with just a simple jesture he saw, he felt what she felt.
He was no longer afraid, he sympathized. Gazing at her with unknown truths in those deep obsidian orbs he finally saw her clearly. Her pain, her anger, the loneliness, sadness and the overwhelming envy that was all hidden beneath the hideous mask. But he understood it all.
Had it been different, he would've helped her. Had it been different, he was sure he would have fallen under her spell; he already started to. But she had to be shot down. Too much has already been lost. She was beyond help.
With a heavy heart, he ran to the only person who he thought could've helped. His mind, once again, drew blank as he stared at the scenery before him. Tears didn't fall like the rain, his heart didn't hurt. He felt, empty. He had no more feelings, Inner tore open his heart; she ripped every single thread of humanity away from him.
Warm, calloused hands silently traced the figure who sat slumped on a chair. Shackles wrapped around her, claiming the body like a prize. The scars that begun to fade littered her once lively self. Her skin was soft, pale but cold to the touch: like porcelain. The once rosy lips were left numb in the complexion of a frosty blue and her mouth hung agape. Her blue, pupiless eyes were left wide open. He stared into the abyss, mindlessly tracing his fingers over her features.
Ino. She was once beautiful, and still is. To him. The chaos and the bodies that were burning. The screams and shouts of agony seemed like an endless paradox, but he just stood amidst it all. He had no more will to fight.
What's the point anyway? There's nothing left to fight for..
But he could give a shit less about what was happening anymore.
The building suddenly shook, causing him to fall. He didn't even bother to get up, very well knowing what was coming. A hollow chuckle escapes his throat, his left hand tracing to his pant pocket whiles his right hand gripped the other of the corpse. Letting go to only light a cigarette as the building slowly collapsed. Letting out a puff of smoke he smiled, a tired smile, "Sorry Choji.."
And then he couldn't feel anymore.

Inner looked around her, thousands of mutialted corpses layed before her. The skies were filled with smoke, the infrastructures were in pieces. The once proud Village Hidden in The Leaf was reduced to nothing but ash. One of the most powerful villages succumbed to nothing in a few hours. A ghost of what it once was. A feeling of dread overcame her, but she chose to ignore it.
"This is all your fault, Sakura," she admired her handiwork, bits and pieces of sadness lingered in her fiery orbs, " had you only loved me back, this wouln't have happened."
"But now we can be together again, just me and you!" Her smile became genuine and filled with hope. But it all came crashing down when a sudden pain stabbed her chest. She screamed aloud, her body crashing harshly on the ground. Bruises littered her body and her vision became unstable. She saw the little girl, standing next to someone else. The bright bubblegum hair, and jade eyes mocked her even when she was one foot in the grave.
She coughed out blood,"Y-y.....you...p..promised.." She choked out. The petite girl merely tilted her head and looked at her innocently, "Go to sleep." Black spots clouded her eyes as her vision blurred from tears.
"No...no.." It came out barely audible. Her body layed limp on the ground, in her own blood. A large hole in her chest.
Naruto stared at the corpse before him. His apathy meters were off the charts. And it was all because of her. Just then, a small hand grabbed his leg. He looked down to see the little girl smiling at him. " It's alright now! See?!" She pointed to the body before his feet. Sakura grinned widely and a small smile unconciously spread to his lips.
"Yeah."
