Never Trust Me

Chapter 4

Eren allowed Crystal to ride with him until they found another horse, and she wouldn't allow them to force her into another squad, saying that Eren should be protected. Levi hadn't spoken to her since she burnt her tongue, but she knew he meant well, all he did was care. In his own, dark and lonely way he cared.

Just as Crystal predicted, the smell of rotting titan flesh made titans go to another place in the wall, because she didn't kill those titans, instead, she tied them down and set them ablaze.

"Remember, you can't engage in battle, those are the commander's orders." Eren reminded, looking back at the girl who kept her eyes out towards the group of titans, "No matter what you're way too injured to be fighting, let alone your ODM gear is completely out of gas."

"I can easily run up the arms of a titan." Crystal said dryly, as they trotted through the city of Shiganshina, and then she suddenly grabbed his reigns, "Everyone! Stand still!" She coughed after shouting, and then when Levi heard her, he shouted louder for Erwin to hear.

"Stop Erwin! There's a problem!"

"Hm?" Erwin shot a black flare, telling everyone to stop, and Crystal grabbed onto Eren tightly.

"Can't you see? It's quiet." She muttered.

"Yeah? Doesn't that just mean that there are no titans?"

"Eren, listen closer. There's absolute silence, that means that no titans are even outside the walls. That means... he's back..."

"Who?"

ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Fuck!" She shouted, "Erwin! RETREAT!"

"What-?" Suddenly the giant, hairy titan appeared on top of the wall, grinning widely at the whole scout regiment, "What is that?!"

"Let's go! Now!"

"We're staying!" Suddenly, as Levi shouted that, a titan swallowed him whole and several others jumped out of buildings, eating everyone in sight. Leaving Crystal alone with a headless Eren, and she started to scream with tears coming down her face.

"Crystal? Crystal!" Mikasa's voice called out softly and Crystal's eyes widened as she jolted up, "Finally, you started crying in your sleep."

"O-Oh." Crystal wiped her face off and looked around before a sigh of relief escaped her lips.

"Was it a nightmare?" Mikasa asked, knowing that everyone was still fast asleep.

"Yeah... I don't think you guys should continue this fight towards that basement."

"What?" Mikasa asked in a huff as if Crystal had spoken something that was pathetic.

"I hear him..."

"Who?"

"The hairy titan... I can hear his mind control over the other titans, its just a whisper but I can hear him..."

"You mean the giant one that the others said they saw?"

"Yes... It won't be safe to commence the operation tomorrow." Mikasa looked at Crystal for a moment and sighed.

"I think you're just paranoid due to your nightmare, lay on Eren and go back to sleep." Crystal looked at Eren who had previously put her head on his stomach while he laid on the log and then laid back. Her head returning to its spot, "Nothing bad will happen okay?"

"Okay..."

Everyone rode into Shiganshina, and Crystal was ordered to ride with Levi, but she made note not to hold onto him again after he complained about how dirty his uniform was from sleeping outside.
