The signal was shot that they were moving on ahead, pushing further towards the wall, and Levi couldn't hide how tired he was from himself, he didn't get a wink of sleep at all.
"Shit." He cursed, knowing that it would be bad if a titan appeared, and he tried his hardest to hide this from his team.
"Levi," Mikasa spoke up beside him, surprising him and made him veer away from in her surprise.
"Yes, Mikasa?" He asked, but he almost couldn't hold back his yawn.
"You didn't sleep, did you?" Levi glared on ahead as he didn't answer, and he made his horse take off faster. Mikasa sighed, and followed suit, she didn't want the captain to get hurt again, the ride was mostly quiet until they hit a forest.
"Be cautious!" Levi shouted, "If you hesitate to acknowledge a sound a titan can kill you." Unknowing of the Titans that were hiding in the trees above and the Titans seemed to wait until the group passed to jump down, surrounding them, "Shit!"
"Let's get them!" Mikasa jumped off her horse and started to swing out to the Titans, taking down two in a row. Levi then felt something breathe down his back, and he slowly turned to see a Titan staring at him hungrily, then it began to open its mouth. Levi got ready to jump when blood splattered and covered his face, not long after the titan fell over dead.
"Thank you, Eren!" Levi shouted, seeing Eren as he was the closest in the sky, but Eren landed next to Levi after the last titan fell.
"Uh... Captain Levi, it wasn't me who killed that Titan... it was her." Eren pointed up at a tree, and Levi followed his finger to see someone cloaked, sitting on a tree branch, outstretched from the cloak was a blade. It was different than theirs, it was curved, thick, and very sharp.
"Who are you-!" Levi tried to shout again when she zipped away before answering, "God damn it! Let's get back on track! Did one of you shoot off a signal?"
"I did captain!" Armin shouted, holding the empty flare gun, and Levi grumbled, "Captain, why didn't you react quick enough?"
"For even a superhuman like Levi, he can't hide the fact he hasn't slept." Eren said as he got on his horse, "I could tell the moment he was dozing off while cleaning the house before leaving."
"Is it that obvious?" Levi groaned while muttering under his breath, "We need to get going, or Erwin will count us as dead." Levi took off down the path, and the others hesitated to follow.
"Levi is really on edge about this secret person who keeps killing titans, but if only I saw more of her face last night, I could tell if she was a part of the scouts."
"Hm?" Eren looked at his friend curiously.
"Her voice sounded so rough as if it hadn't been used in years. So if she was with us, she wouldn't have that rough of a voice."
"Good point," Eren said as they left the forest, their horses booking it as the sky suddenly grew dark, and rain began to fall.
"Keep close! I don't want to lose any of you in the fog!" Levi shouted back at his team, and they shouted 'Roger' as they got up close to him.
"Captain! Shouldn't we stop?! What if we run into a titan! We'll never know it's coming!" Jean shouted through the harsh rain, and Levi scuffed.
"Then we'll handle it! At least you guys are actually getting a proper shower! Also! I can still hear that person! She's nearby, if she detects anything, she'll more than likely kill it!"
"Levi, how can you know we can trust her? Maybe this is what she's been waiting for, to get us in the fog to kill us and then we'll be chopped to pieces." Jean said, acting casual, and this thought occurred to Levi.
