Never Trust Me

Chapter 5

Crystal didn't pay attention to anything that Eren was saying as they camped half way back to Wall Rose, he had patched up the wall so everyone was excited to return to tell Historia, but Crystal had other plans for herself, she wouldn't return to her father and the others.

Crystal looked back at the group that discussed the issues before them very seriously,

"Guys! I need to go, nature calls." Crystal looked back at them, and they all gave their thumbs up, except for Levi who was sipping his black tea, she ran off towards a patch of trees. She began to tear up her jacket, then used her bloody bandages to cover it in blood but winced as cold air nipped at her wounds, but then she sighed, "Here goes nothing..." Then she screamed, but unexpectedly, a titan actually came out from a tree, grinning wickedly.

"A titan!!!" She screamed again, throwing her uniform down and put her blades over her face, making the titan lose interest in her but focused on the uniform giving her enough time to run up a tree. Just like it was magic, Mikasa, Eren, Levi, and Armin all arrived at the site.

"Crystal?!" Armin shouted, and then they spotted the titan, "NO!" Levi mumbled something under his breath before he flew up to the titan, and sliced open its mouth.

"Fresh blood. Damn it!" Levi shouted to Armin and then sliced up the nape, before landing next to the fallen titan, only to spot the ripped up uniform, "She..."

"She's gone..." Mikasa interrupted, telling Armin as she picked up the bloodied top, "She was eaten by the titan and she couldn't have escaped due to her injuries getting worse." Armin grabbed the uniform and held it close to his chest.

"Why...? Why did a titan have to eat her...?" Armin trembled as he held onto the uniform, and Crystal sighed, knowing it was wrong to act as if she died, but she couldn't risk going into civilization.

"Let's go... report back to Erwin," Eren said, helping his friend walk back to the camp and they all ended up leaving Levi behind.

"You idiot... if this is some sort of game just come out already, you're clearly hurting them, they don't want you dead. Honestly, I was hoping you would join us within the walls so whatever kind of scum your father is, can see you're surrounded by people who've killed before. Are you gonna come out or not?" Crystal shook her head, as if answering him even though he didn't know she was in the tree right in front of him, "I guess... you're really dead..." Levi walked back to join the group, Hanji crying about how she could've gotten so much information out of Crystal before she died.

"We were so caught up we didn't even learn what herbs scare of titans! Or any of her tricks!" Hanji cried out, "I'll try everything now! I know this is how you did it!" Erwin's face was shrouded in shadows as he contemplated the reality of her being dead.

"I know one of her tricks."

"SURE YA DO! WE ALL SEEN IT!" Hanji started laughing- or even cackling at Armin, who in turn grimaced at how creepy she sounded, "The way that she covered Levi's eyes with blades and the titan didn't notice him after is just the kind of AWESOME information I could need!"

"Hanji." Erwin spoke up, "Let's head out towards Wall Rose. I'm going to find her father."

"What? Why?" Eren looked at Erwin who in turn looked at the woods that a small smoke stream was flowing out of.

"Because I'm going to have him executed. I personally know all the ODM gear that he's stolen and the people he's assaulted- murdered. I'll inform Historia and the council of this as soon as I return. He will be jailed for making her run."

"Erwin I think you should just-"

"Levi, stand down. I am still the commander of this regiment and I will act accordingly. The day she protected my soldiers she became one of them, so now that she's dead and the cause of her death was her father, I shall personally have him executed." Levi cautiously looked at Erwin, before shrugging and started to drink his tea before they had to leave. He couldn't get the idea out of his head that Crystal was actually just playing with them, that someday in the future he may end up seeing her again, and honestly, he hoped so.
