Chapter 15

Crystal awaited Levi's completion of her physical and mental evaluation. Despite a few mishaps and her losing to Levi, Crystal felt she did well. Levi, on the other hand, knew she did well.

Levi re-examined her paper, and glanced up at her for a moment only to catch her staring intently at him, this caused her eyes to widen and her cheeks to turn red.

'What? Is she embarrassed that I caught her?'

"Well, I've finished putting in all of your information, if you would like to see."

"Yes please." Levi handed out the paper to her and she took it gently.

'Everything she does outside of fighting is very soft, very delicate... I wonder how it would feel to hold her hand.' Levi waited for Crystal to finish reading it before she gave an approving nod, handing the paper back to him he began to reread it.

Overall report - Crystal was by far the best cadet I've seen during a physical examination. With no previous training, she did amazing compared to previous cadets. Her perception really showed during our ambush training, where I would be hidden behind a tree in the woods and she would have to find me. Her strength was enough to knock me back a few times, and her pain endurance shown when I swung a couple of times, she hardly felt a thing. Her ability to kill titans on less gas consumption than the average scout definitely will work in her favor, she uses momentum instead of her gas to get further. Her way of killing titans is also quite unique, placing out one of the more realistic dummies, she sliced at the legs, then the arms, then the neck, all before the titan dummy could properly fall over from lack of legs. I witnessed her give it her all and I can conclude that in the midst of battle, she is worthy to be a survivor.'

Levi lifted his eyes only to catch Crystal staring again, an even bigger blush spread across her face as Levi stared at her for a moment, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"S-Sorry sir. I just like seeing how concentrated you look when you write or read..."

"Oh... Thank you." Levi couldn't help but gulp slightly at the compliment, but realized it wasn't the true reason, she just came up with something. He shrugged it off though, "Go eat something at the dining hall, I'll be there soon after delivering these to Hanji."

"Ah... Okay." Crystal stood up and started to leave, "Would you like me to clean when I'm done eating?"

"Yes please." Levi watched as she left and closed the door behind her, then he ran a hand through his raven hair, "She sure is an odd one, Erwin..." Levi stood up and began to walk down the halls towards Hanji's office.

"Hey Crystal!" Eren shouted from his table, causing Crystal to look his way as she grabbed her teacup, and she waved with her free hand. Filling her teacup with tea she suddenly felt two arms snake around her waist, and when she first imagined it would be Levi from her dreams, she only felt a chest leaning back, not a shoulder.

"Who's there?!" Crystal suddenly whipped around, unable to pull out of the guy's strong hold. There he was, Jean in all of his glory and Crystal instantly saw the bruise, "Jean what are you doing?"
