Louis' POV
My mum called and told me her and Lottie were at the airport and I was to come and pick them up.
Eleanor came with me because I don't know if I can handle them on my own. Poor Lottie, she's fifteen years old and she has to see her big sister in a fucking coma.
Eleanor keeps assuring me everything will be okay and I hope it will be, for Braeden's sake.
We arrive at the airport and the two of them get in the car. They don't have much luggage so hopefully they aren't staying long...
"Hey Lottie." I say and smile. She smiles back and leans forward to give me a hug. "Mum?" I ask but she doesn't move, she stays staring out the window.
The entire drive to the hospital is silent. Mum hasn't moved a muscle since she got in the car and I'm worried about her.
"She's just over here." I say quietly as I lead them to Braeden's room.
We walk past the waiting room and I see Luke sitting there, staring blankly. I feel bad for the boy.
We walk into Braeden's room and mum gasps before rushing over to the bed. "Braeden." She whispers and tears start to slip down her cheeks. "My poor baby."
Lottie stays standing there stunned. She hasn't seen Braeden since she was a little girl and now she's all grown up. I thought I was missing out on Lottie growing up but Brae hasn't seen her in four years.
"How long has it been?" Mum asks and I know she isn't talking about the coma. "I haven't spoken to my own daughter in over a year. How could I do this to her?"
"I know the feeling." I whisper.
"I'm her mother Louis, it's different." I know she's right and I'm honestly disappointed in her.
"I've been talking to her." Lottie whispers from beside me and I look over to her tear stained face. "We started talking again about a year ago when I found her twitter. We were talking almost everyday up until like three weeks ago. Then she stopped replying and I assumed she was busy or something."
"She didn't mention that." I say slowly, did she?
"How long have you and her been talking Louis?" Mum asks and wipes away her tears.
"A week before this." I say and gesture to her.
"Why did she do it?" She asks her voice so small I can hardly hear.
"She wasn't happy mum." I take a seat next to her and she starts to sob into my chest and somewhere along the way, I sob back.
Calum's POV
"They here yet?" I ask Luke who is once again in the waiting room.
"Yeah, they came like fifteen minutes ago." I thought by now he might be a bit... Better? I don't know, but seeing him still like this is worrying me.
Him and I are better now, there's no hard feelings and we've been talking a lot - mostly about Bee, but still.
"She'll wake up." He says slowly without looking at me. I stare at him and shake my head. "She will. I can feel it, she won't leave me."
"Luke even if she does wake up she'll have to go to rehab and we won't see her for a while. She isn't just going to come back and it'll be like old times." He needs to understand that her waking up won't just fix all of his problems.
"You don't get it. I don't care if I see her or not. She could say she hates me and try to stab me and I'd still be over the moon. I want her to get a second chance. She's the only person I've ever met who deserves one." I nod slowly trying to process what he's said. What if she does do that, not the stabbing part the 'I hate you' part. What if she never wants to see me again? Will that be worse than- No of course it won't, how could I ever think that? Luke is right. She deserve a second chance.
