I step towards him carefully before taking the magazine from his fragile hands. He stays staring at the floor as I kneel down in front of him.
"Look at me," I whisper and gently tilt his chin up towards me.
"You believed those... Those idiots?" He hisses as he grabs the magazine from my hand and throws it across my room. I flinch from his sudden movement and he stares at me scared.
"I was so depressed from all the medication and confused from what I was being told that I wasn't thinking straight. I'm sorry, I am. I shouldn't have been with Kyle but... I needed someone. I was hoping," I begin and take a deep breath. "I was hoping that he would begin to be you. I don't know I'm just confused."
"I know... I know. I just love you so much," he says and his voice cracks. He coughs to try and cover it up but I'm already laughing.
"I love you too," I laugh and he wraps his arms around my waist.
"You're so mean to me," he laughs and swings me around as I giggle into his neck.
"Sorry," I whisper when he puts me back down.
"I like it."
"Guys?" I hear Louis' voice call from the doorway and I turn to look at him. "Sorry to interrupt but we were going to order some pizza. You hungry?"
"Yeah, we are," I mumble and grab Niall's hand and the three of us go to the lounge room.
We get there and I see Luke there but not Scarlette.
"Where is she?" I ask him but he just stares at me. "W-What?" I ask and I look around the room and see Michael isn't there either. "Where'd they go?" I question but no one speaks up. "Luke Robert Hemmings where are they?" He continues to stare at me. "I don't fucking care if you're pissed off. They are my fucking best friends where are they?" I hiss and he shakes his head slowly.
"They went to get the pizza," Ash says quietly and I look at him.
"What the fuck happened?" I yell at them but none of them will look at me.
"Luke got a good beating," Calum says and clenches his jaw. "You said Michael was getting better. Never seen him do that before?"
"What? Michael hit you?" I gasp and step towards Luke but he moves over in the seat to get away from me. "Why?"
"He called Scarlette a hoe," Calum clarifies.
"Fuck you," I hiss and push Luke so he falls over onto the couch. He doesn't move, he just lays there. Now I see where Michael hit him. There's a bruise beginning to form on his jaw line and sadness courses through me. "Why do you always get hurt because of me?" I sigh and sit down next to him.
"It's my fault," he mumbles and a rest my hand on his calf as he lays his legs over me.
"Michael is better. You deserved it."
"You should have heard what she was saying, Bee," Calum tells me but I shake my head.
"Nothing justifies abusing a woman or violence. He shouldn't have hit you but you shouldn't have abused her."
"I know," he mumbles and hugs the pillow.
"Where'd they really go?" I sigh and pat his leg.
"He said 'lets go to Liam's' and they left," he mumbles and puts his head into the pillow.
"Fuck," I mumble and grab my phone out of my pocket. I scroll to Scarlette's number but I know neither her or Michael will answer my call so I bring up Liam's and call him.
