"thought I knew my heartbeat but it was out of time..."

Sean woke before the alarm sounded, which was something new because lately, his mom would have to drag him out of bed so he wouldn't miss a class. But that morning the woman was surprised to find her son already in the kitchen cooking breakfast.

"Good morning, mom. Do you want pancakes?" She frowned at the words and looked around worried that she was being pranked or something.

"Where are your friends and the camera?" She asked getting a cup of coffee and it was Sean's time to look confused. "first you got out of bed on your own and now it's making breakfast? or I'm being pranked or the aliens finally gave my son back."

Sean laughed and the woman loved the sound — it had been a while. "None of that mom, I just... woke up in a good mood today, that's all."

She smiled. "Well, I hope you find a way to keep yourself in this good mood..." She caressed his hair. "because we miss this Sean around here."

He had breakfast along with his family and it was like if he could feel his chest filling itself with something new or perhaps something old that it had been gone for a while. He missed being around his family and he hadn't even realized it until that moment — he didn't even notice how much he was pulling away from them.

After a few minutes of driving and he was finally walking into class. His heart was pounding on his chest and he could hear his mind going crazy wishing that she was there — she wasn't.

Abruptly he wasn't in such a good mood anymore but he was still charged with energy, he danced like he hadn't danced in such a long time and it felt so good.

He was so into the dance that one would think he wouldn't notice if she came rushing into the class — but he did. Her hair was a mess, her cheeks were flushed and she was trying to catch a breath, probably ran to get into class on time.

"You're late miss Rice." Will joked, her face got even redder.

"Sorry." She laughed and Sean missed a step or two in the choreography. What a sound, he thought to himself while trying to recollect from the mistakes.

The class kept going and even though she was late she got the choreography pretty quickly and Sean noticed because he strategically placed himself a little behind her so he could watch her dancing. He wasn't trying to be creepy or anything, he was just inspired by her somehow.

It was time to film and he knew Will was going to give him a solo because that's how they always do but out of an impulsive move, Sean decided to ask for something different.

"Will." He called approaching the man that was in the computer setting everything.

"Hey, look if it's not my favorite little man, you were killing it today. It's been a while since I saw you with so much energy." He said and it made Sean smile, he didn't even realize that people could see that he wasn't himself lately. "What about a solo?"

"Yeah, about that... I have something to ask you." He was nervous because he had never done anything like this before and he never really wanted.

"Anything." He said and Sean looked around a little embarrassed for his next words.

"Can you pair me with Kaycee?" He pulled the bandaid.

Will looked so surprised and confused. Sean had done groups before but never really a duo, he never wanted because of how much of a connection you have to get with the other person and he never believed himself to be able to form that with someone, and the choreographer knew that about the boy so he always respected, even though he had his thoughts of pairing the two of them together for a while now.
