I woke up as the sunlight seeped through my window. It was a school day so I climbed out of bed and got ready. I looked in the mirror and I was glad to see the girl who once looked broken smiling so genuinely. I looked around for my backpack, grabbing it and made my way downstairs.

The twins and Ashlin were already sitting at the table. They all looked like they were waiting for something.

"Ta da! Breakfast is ready." Ron came out of the kitchen, wearing a pink apron around and waving a spoon.

It took everything in me to not burst out laughing and I saw the twins and Ashlin also trying their best not to laugh.

I sat next to Ashlin as Ron served us breakfast. There were various types of breakfast food laid out on the table.

"Wow, how did you even know how to make all this?" I asked as I piled some on my plate.

"Well, a man has to learn how to cook to feed his queen." He sat down with us and winked at me.

"Wait, queen? Are you saying you have a girlfriend?" I wiggled my eyebrows.

"You wound me, sister. Of course I would have a girlfriend," he said with a cocky smile.

“I just didn’t think any girl would be stupid enough to date the likes of you,” I said, shrugging nonchalantly.

“Hey!” Ron put a hand on his chest, looking offended.

The others laughed as we all started with our breakfast.  We talked about random things throughout the breakfast and it was truly wonderful. The twins were smiling brightly and they looked happier than ever.

My thoughts ran to the person whom I had called Dad all my life. It hurt knowing that he wasn't my dad. Even if he wasn't my biological father, I had always thought of him as that and now that I knew differently, I was still having problem coming to terms with it.

I found out that he had gone back to visit mom. He had been gone for a few weeks now and I had no idea how things will turn out once he comes back. For now, I was content with the things I had in my life, because for the first time since mom died, I was feeling like I had a family that I could depend on.

After breakfast I went to school and headed to class before the bell rang. I sat in history class, taking notes and talking to the girls near me. Some of the girls in class approached me and talked briefly about the lesson as the class ended.

Everything went smoothly at school. I guess it's the truth that people get over things and focus on the new gossip. I wasn't the center of the attention anymore and it felt great. Some people I share classes would come and initiate conversations with me and I figured that their opinions of me had changed somewhat. Lydia also came and apologized to me for being mean but she said we could never be friends. I understood that it would be difficult for her since she liked Zach too.

When I was done with school, Zach offered to drop me home and I happily accepted. We both had fun in his car, singing to songs and making small conversation.

He stopped in front of my house and I stepped out of his car and gave him a quick peck on his lips.

"I wish I could hang out with you today, but Liam’s forcing me to have a guy's night with him. He’s just so dramatic," Zach said rolling his eyes.
