Chapter 2:

I looked up at Loki. He was at least a foot taller than me. The men from Asgard are abnormally attractive, but Loki is even more so. Of course, I hadn't mentioned it to him. His eyes were a brilliant green, like emeralds. Everything about him was mesmerizing, fascinating. I could study him all day. He was wearing his usual black and green attire. Plain, yet complex. He didn't seem to mind me staring at him.

"So, how did I do today?" I asked him. I was training to be a fierce warrior. I believe that everyone should learn to fight, even if you're a female. Fighting was what I was born for, it's a part of me. He looked down at me and sarcastically said, "terrible. Absolutely dreadful." He winked at me. I grinned.

"Well, if I was so terrible, why did I beat you?" Ha. What now, Loki? I was fast and fierce with my words, too. Unfortunately, so was Loki. The silver tongue of Asgard.

"Because I didn't want to make you cry, of course." He said. I laughed.

"Good one. You know I haven't cried since my mother died 8 years ago. I didn't even cry when my own father died 5 years ago. Loki, I do not cry." I said. It was true. I didn't cry when my father died, and I barely shed a year when my mother died. Loki chuckled.

"I know, Madelyn. You were amazing. Incredible." He said. Loki said I did amazing. I was positively ecstatic. I looked down at my well worn boots. "Thanks, Loki. It means so much to me, you know." I said. Loki just smiled sweetly. He was so confusing. He could be cold and heartless, but he can change to loving and gentle in a second. I was just a foolish girl, of course. Nothing but a child trying to prove myself worthy.
