After everyone gathered around to greet Travis, everyone went inside the Vocational building. They gathered around the same square table with Monopoly and sat down. Those who didn't have a chair to sit on got a chair from another table.
"I don't think we might have enough things to be able to play Monopoly, so I'll just put it away," Cass announced. She got up from our seat, put everything back into the box and walked over to where originally was at. Everyone had already started a conversation while Cass made her way over to the closet in the classroom to put away the game. Everyone was talking, but Lucas wasn't. He was uncomfortable around all these people he didn't know. Although it didn't seem that way, it seemed as if he wanted to wait for Cass, like he wanted to talk to her about something. Cass finally got back and the whole room went silent as soon as Lucas began talking.
"So.. uh, Cass, remember how I was about to tell you something outside..." Lucas said in a shy voice.
"Are you sure you want to tell me in front of everyone?" Cass asked him, raising her eyebrows.
Lucas continued, "Well yeah, I was just gonna ask if you could help me, uh, get to know your friends better." Cass felt a pain in her chest, but it was like no other. It was a pain like when you want to cry, but it's in your heart. Maybe Cass and the others didn't realize it, but Ramon realized that Lucas might have just been making up an excuse. Although, he wasn't completely sure, so he just stayed quiet.
"Oh, okay, then maybe we should say a little bit about ourselves. I mean, Lucas, you know Travis but not everyone here knows Travis so why not just let everyone, even myself, say a little." Cass said to everyone.
"Time to spill some tea, haha- sorry I'll just stay quiet," Ramon said, quickly feeling embarrassed about what he said.
"Okay, I'll start-" Kanna volunteered, before getting interrupted by Travis.
"Actually, instead of saying things about ourselves, how about we make this a bit more interesting." Travis said, "How about we talk about our crushes, and I'm totally not saying this because I want Cass to say who she likes in front of-" Travis' mouth got covered by Kanna's hand.
"Shut the fuck up," Kanna said, in a mean but joking around tone.
"Oh, oh, I wanna go," Ramon said.
"Go on," Cass said, which made her sound professional in an odd way.
"Okay so, I'm that one type of person who doesn't like anyone a lot, I've only ever had a few crushes. I mean- I find people attractive. Like, I think Kanna's really fucking pretty, but not to the point where I like her. Not to mention, I'm honestly scared to even have a crush on someone I really care about, because I'm afraid that if I tell them it'll end our friendship. I'm just... nervous and scared." Ramon explained. He began playing with his curls, that seemed to always be too droopy as if he was sad.
"Break out your tissues guys... but it's not for your tears," Travis said jokingly.
"Wow haha," Kanna said.
"What. The. Fuck. Again. It's funny and all but, what the actual fuck." Ramon said slightly chuckling at the end of his sentence.
"I'm sorry if this sounds mean, but I'm bored and I don't find this fun," Kaili complained in a quiet voice, trying her best not to be mean.
"Actually, I have an idea. Let's have a snowball fight outside." Travis announced, just by the look on his face you could tell he was looking forward to it.
"OH MY GOD YES" Cass yelled in excitement. She quickly put on Lucas' jacket and went outside.
"I guess that our cue," Lucas said. Everyone put on their jackets, except for Lucas of course, and headed outside.
"You guys can have a snowball fight, Kaili and I are going to do our own thing," Ramon told Cass and the others. Everyone went to the open field to play with the snow. Kaili and Ramon were on the far side, talking to each other. At one point, Kaili was sitting down and Ramon was laying down with his head on her laps. From what Cass saw, it seemed like she was playing with his hair and talking to him at the same time.
"Aw, look at them," Cass said to everyone.
"God, they should just fuck each other already," Kanna said, laughing afterward. The four who were out on the field playing separated into two groups, Lucas and Cass against Kanna and Travis. The two teams agreed to make a base out of snow. Kanna and Travis built what seemed like more of igloo than a base. Lucas and Cass made theirs look like they built a wall out of snow, that was instantly taken down by a barrage of snowballs that Kanna and Travis threw at them.
"GET DOWN!" Lucas yelled for dramatic effect. Cass and Lucas got down to pick up their snowballs and ran at Travis and Kanna. They jumped on their "igloo" and destroyed the whole place.
While this whole thing was happening, Lucas said in a Russian accent "KGB, OPEN UP!"
In confusion of what was happening, Kanna said, "What the hell are y'all doing?"
Continues with his Russian accent, Lucas yelled: "We will be the ones asking the questions!" Cass burst into laughter, but it was interrupted by the bell. It was now snack time at the cafeteria, now there was only an hour left of after school.
