The sky in Park Avenue was starting to get dark while we waited outside our building. I was holding Vincent's hands seeing people come and go in the busy street, secretary Lao was accompanying us and begging to let him company us to the nearest mall.
"Get in loser, we are going shopping!" Ryan screamed putting his head outside of the backseat of a Range Rover Velar that parked in front of me.
"That's my ride, see you later Secretary Lao!" I said recognizing my weird friend.
"Bye mister Lao!" Vincent waived sitting in the backseat of the car and already putting on the seatbelt.
"Sup boys, thanks for company me," I said after closing the door.
"Anytime Vickie, but who's the little guy?" Richie said the from the passenger seat.
"This is Vincent my little brother and the shopping target." I smiled putting on the seatbelt. "Vinci, this Ryan, Richie, and Jason."
"Omg, he's wearing khakis!" Ryan quickly understood the situation. "Jason drive fast this is an emergency."
"I'm not getting points in my license," Jason said driving the car. "And it's nice to meet you, buddy."
"Noona why do I have to buy new clothes?" I spend over 20 minutes explaining and he still didn't get the point.
"Because even grandpa has more style than you." I tried to be delicious.
"Don't worry Vincent we won't allow your sister and Ryan to dress you up in designer shoes." Richie laughed.
"I'm relying on you two then," Said Vincent to the older boys. "I just don't want to spend all the money on cotton and jeans."
It didn't take long for us to arrive in the parking lot of the closest shopping mall. In an act of instinct, I held Vincent's hands, but he quickly let it go. Sometimes I forgot that he's a grown boy. They grow up so fast!
"Okay, what is the first store?" Richie asked when we got out of the elevator. In total style, may I add?
"Well since he likes to play the poor character, I guess we can go to normal stores." I referred to how Vincent and some of my relatives act like they were all humble and poor. It sick's me and my cousins out.
"I just don't like to show off or act spoiled." The little liar said like he wasn't the youngest and the most spoiled of us.
"I'll not be sorry for being rich, it's not a deep philosophy." I started to look too the stores from the outside. "I see it. I like it. I want it. I got it. Besides, how did you come from Singapore?"
"In Grandpa's private jet." He said between his teeth following me to a department store that was full of people.
"Point proven." I simply said getting a pair of jeans. "This one is your size."
"This t-shirt will be pretty good." Ryan gave him a super-hero t-shirt. "Why do you think our skins so glow and clear?"
"Is it because Asians are obsessed about appearance?" Our baby guessed confused when I gave him a pair of Air Jordan's.
"Wrong! It's the money!" Ryan said taking more t-shirts with 'boyish' stamps. "Unlike the other kids were lucky enough to don't care about money, even though we may have more social responsibilities and less freedom. But at least we can pay a good dermatologist and treat our pores."
"Or just pay for luxury spas," Jason said catching us in surprise. "What?! I used to have really bad skin."
"Not judging man." Richie and all of us could feel his pain.
