Enas and I walked back down to the pub and saw that it was nearly empty. All that was left was the stragglers, bartenders and our little group minus Tabak.
The seriousness was back on everyone's faces, they were all scared, scared of the war and losing their lives.
"Might wanna fix your hair" Enas whispers lowly and I touch my hair, the group was looking at us as I patted my hair down.
I smirk.
"Might wanna pull your fly up" I whisper back. He freezes and looks down fumbling to pull it back up before slinging an arm around my shoulders. He pulls the collar of my outfit aside and pulls a 'yikes' face.
I touch my neck and realise what he's referring to."You gave me a hickey??" I whisper as we reach the group.
"I swear you two are terrible. Sneaking off upstairs like that" Peilloe says causing everyone to chuckle slightly.
This mood was different more dense than usual."She could attack at any moment and you two were off cuddling?!" Mardus says with disgust. I frown at him.
"And where were you during the time the king was injured and Zalla gained her powers" I growled.
He ditched us. He was a traitor.
"Listen. It wasn't my fault. I thought I heard something and when I went to check it out I was ambushed and knocked out. By the time I came to I was next to the lady Tabak who had just lost her arm trying to defend my life."
I felt guilty as I hear his story.
I mean sure I thought it suspicious but he had an alibi."I'm sorry for snapping. I just assumed the worst" I admitted.
Mardus nodded and Enas and I sat down at the table.
I could tell Ignis was worried about me. He noticed the hand bruises around my neck when we walked into the pub and has been eyeing his brother ever since."So tomorrow is the possible end for Yaldvir" Peilloe says with dismay.
No one else comments as we all look at each other and around the room.I decided to grab the pint of beer and pour myself a glass.
I handed the glass to Enas and poured another one. Everyone else still had some beer in their glasses.I stood up, causing everyone's eyes to be on me and raised my beer into the air.
"For the people of Yaldvir and all the lives that shall be sacrificed for our survival""For Yaldvir" they chanted and we all took a swig of our beers.
I sat back down and Enas's arm snaked around my waist, his beer untouched."Don't like beer?"
"I don't like Yaldvir" he replied quickly.
I was confused.
Sure he can be stuck in his ways but overall he was nothing but a sweetheart. Why did he have to be so stubborn?"Um E.." I start as he moves my hand to his crotch.
My eyes widen but I don't say a word."Again?"
"You just looked so good against that wall" he teased.
I frowned at him playfully and took another sip of beer, removing my hand from down there. This was the last night of freedom on Yaldvir and I would be damned if something were to happen.
-
The sun. The bright burning sun. It was hot and bright. So bright.
What the hell?
I sit up and immediately realise I'm naked.
I draw the blankets up, covering myself as my head pounds.Oh my god. Did I get drunk the night before a war?? What is wrong with me??
A body next to me stirs and I scream, the body jolts awake, screaming back.
The persons hair was covering their face so they blew some hair off their eyes.We screamed again.
"Enas?!"
"Carla?!"
We shouted at the same time.We realised how foolish we must've looked and he gave me a morning kiss on the forehead.
"Well. That certainly brings down the morning visitor" he groans with laughter, sitting up.I move over so I'm laying down against his naked and toned chest.
I hadn't noticed he had gained his muscle mass again since he had been out of prison. I didn't even realise him working out. How do you miss something like that?"How many times did we?" I start, looking at the mess of the room.
My chest plate was hung over a statue, Enas's pants were draped over the couch in the corner and for some reason the rest of our attire was in the bed minus E's chest plate."I'd say three max... we should probably get ready" he says trying to pick up everything of his in the bed.
I do the same, scrambling for my items.
"Have you seen my chest plate?" He asked as he pulls on his latex pants.I zip the one piece up and shrug.
"Try the bathroom?" I suggest.I grab my skirt and click it into place before grabbing my brown belt, an addition I didn't have yesterday, swinging it around my waist so I had about two hand sized grenades, a sheath for a sword and the Yaldvir belt buckle.
I slipped on the rest of my items as Enas emerges wearing his entire outfit too.
He manifests a sword and hands it to me."I stole it way back when and figured I'd find a use for it.
It's the sword of swords. The more hits, the more power it holds" he explains. It was beautiful with a white blade and a golden handle, balanced perfectly.
"Cool" I chuck it in the sheath and we walk out of my room, and down through the palace to where we figured Ignis would be.
I knocked on Ignis's door to which he opened immediately, throwing Vohon Sokyra on his back.
"Ready your highness?" I ask as he smirks knowingly at us. Jesus what did we do last night? He nods and we are once more moving through the massive palace.
Enas runs to catch up with Ignis, leaving me a few steps behind them."So um. How do we know she will strike today? It could all be a rouse. I of all people can see a trick a mile away" Enas says quietly but not quietly enough.
"You think the message was a scare tactic?" Ignis says in a whisper.
I notice that Ignis's dark wine hair was shorter than normal and one of his burn scars poked out the back of his neck.
I forget how many scars this man has.
I realise that they think it's protecting me by keeping truth about the war to theirselves.
My heart feels warm suddenly, like the glow could feel its own.
"Sorry to interrupt boys but she is coming. I can feel her energy signature."I walk ahead of the boys so I can't see their reaction but I can tell they looked at each other with grief and shock.
