TWO YEARS LATER
I fixed the straps on my golden dress and slipped on the shoes.
I went to put my white cape on when I saw Enas sitting on our bed.We had moved from my old chambers last spring to a bigger and better room, with its own kitchen, bathroom, couch and other accompanying things. It was like living in a studio that was more palace like and less modern.
Enas had been put back on probation and we still couldn't leave Yaldvir but I couldn't leave anyway, my power comes from this place, leaving it would mean my demise, unless I came back every three days.
He had recently swapped his old shirts for fancy gold ones with black trims and low hanging on his chest, showing the beginnings of his well defined body.
He wore a pair of black latex pants and gold boots.
He still had a cape on but recently decided gold and gold clashed so he switched it for a silver cape."What's the matter?" I ask sitting next to him.
He grabs my hands and squeezes them lightly."I think I might go visit him after today" he says quietly.
After the war with Zalla and how her army fell, when Ignis protected Enas and I from the hands of Salo, it was found that Salo wasn't fit for the throne and was thrown into the dungeons for the remainder of his life span. Ignis was devastated he had taken the crown off his father but it was the right thing to do.
Two years later and E and I were still here, sitting on this bed with Mew-Mew sleeping in her cat bed getting ready for Ignis's coronation.
E was hurt he didn't become king but he understand why the people were so happy to have Ignis. With all his righteous and good nature, he would make a fine king.
Enas would remain price of Yaldvir and their father would rot in prison forever.
It was a strange place to be apart of but one I was glad to be in.I still hadn't returned to Earth. No doubt seen as a missing persons or assumed dead. I don't know if my sister and ex fiancé are together, I don't know if my mother is still there. I don't know any of it and frankly my life is just too exciting to worry about those little things.
"I just want to be able to make you truly happy and sometimes I feel like I can never truly be the one to make smile."
"E you fool" I laughed "it's been two years and you still doubt yourself."
"Of course. I hurt you how many times" I held his hands and looked at him with a smile.
"Listen. You aren't perfect but you're you and you know nothing will make me run away. We are good for each other. You have one year left on your probation then we can look at finding our own place. We don't even need to live in the castle if you don't want."
"And as far as seeing Salo. I think you should. I really do. He's a manipulator and a liar but he is the man who raised you. He saved you from time in the dungeon- well permanent time in the dungeons- and I think it would mean a lot to Ignis."
He grabs my face and kisses me lightly before grabbing my hand, pulling me off the bed.
"I will. I'll go see him, our people know the truth, they know the darkness surging within you and they know the true history. Secrets on Yaldvir are no more. We are peaceful once more."
He clipped my cape around my neck and pulled my brown curls out of its way, allowing my hair to fall over my eyes and shoulders.
"So, Warrior of Light. Shall we go and watch my brother become Yaldvir's newest ruler?"
I laughed and linked my arm through his. Making my way out of the room.
"We shall"-
"We are here today to appoint Ignis Yaldvir, the God of Fire, King of Yaldvir. Protector of the six realms and protector of Yaldvir.
With this sword I dub thee the protector, the wiseman and the ruler of Yaldvir." The man up front of the ceremony said, lightly tapping Ignis's shoulders and head with his hand.I looked around the room, all of Yaldvir was here, it was outdoors under the sun with a nice cool breeze, cups of wine in everyone's hands and smiles on everyone's faces.
Enas and I were standing near Ignis, who was kneeling on a podium with three small steps around it.
E was wearing a crown, a simple gold band that say on his head and standing the closest to Ignis.Tabak and I were exactly opposite of each other, there as symbols of protection.
"With this crown, I call upon the holy father and dub thee King of Yaldvir" the crown was placed on Ignis's wine red head and the anticipation grew.
"Rise, King of Yaldvir"
Ignis stood up as the crowd went wild, whooping, clapping, screaming in joy of their new king.Even E was smiling at his brother, clapping as Ignis walked down the steps.
Ignis, who was grinning like a mad man decided to hug his brother.I could see Enas looking shocked and a little stunned but he hugged Ignis back anyway, their hate seemed so distant.
Ignis walked over to Tabak next and gave the one armed warrior a hug before walking over to me.
I clapped at him as he laughed, hugging me."I'm proud of you, you Pompous bastard" I said jokingly.
He pulled back and laughed, patting my head."You're not so bad Carla Trent. One day I know you'll make a fine princess as Enas's bride" I blushed but shook the thought away.
"Yeah yeah, one day you silly goose, now go and enjoy being king! I'll have a drink to you" I say as he starts to walk down the red carpet again.
An arm swings around my waist and I smirk, knowing it's Enas.
He gives me a quick kiss on the cheek and leads me to the banquet hall where all of Yaldvir is invited to party with their new king."Shouldn't we go and see Salo?" I suggest as he hands us goblets of wine.
"Tomorrow my dear. I am enjoying this freedom, the realisation that I'm not an enemy, I'm not hated and I may hate it here but it was where I was born and raised. These are my people, my home" he looked to all the people started to flood into the hall, giggling, talking, drinking.
At the top of it all was Ignis, a big golden crown on his head with a massive diamond in the centre of the crown, sitting at the head of the table, talking with women and shaking the hands of generals.
He would make a fine, honest king. A wise king.
I saw how my soulmate looked at his brother, how he perceived himself, he was damaged and a little bruised but he was himself again, he was content and for the first time since I spiralled myself, I felt like I belonged as well.
"May I talk to you my love?" He says interrupting my content thoughts.
We ended up walking outside, standing against a balcony.
An iconic spot for the two of us."So earlier today, before my brother took over Yaldvir. I felt a little saddened. I thought about snapping, not joining in because it wasn't fair that he once again got everything but looking at it right now, even during the ceremony. I have something Ignis never will, I have the love of my life."
I blush as he tucks some hair behind my ears.
"I've been bad, made mistakes, killed people, hurt the ones I've loved. I became Salo in some aspects but you helped me to find a better way of living. You gave me empathy and I didn't want to fight it. I never did fight that.."He pulls back from me, looking up at the skies, the dusk was beautiful today, especially from a second floor view in the palace of Yaldvir.
"Carla Lei Trent?" He says gaining my attention.
I look to see him on one knee.My heart skips a beat.
He couldn't
He wouldn't."Will you become princess of Yaldvir? Mrs Enas Yaldvir... my wife?"
I scream as I see the beautiful princess cut diamond in front of me and nod my head furiously.
"Yes, holy crap yes!" He slips the ring on my finger and I scream, jumping into his arms with so much force we toppled backwards.
We laugh as I am still on top of him, his handsome face still staring at me.
"You Enas, are My God. I love you" I whisper leaning in to kiss my fiancé and soulmate.
"I love you too" He says back kissing me with all his love and might.
