When I was a child

I could dance and fly

I owned the sky

the dark and night

And when I was a child

I could sing and run

I just had fun

with everyone

But when I was a teen

I cut and cried

waited for the blood to dry,

and wished that I had died

And when I was a teen

I purged and starved

passing out

til I saw stars

Well I grew up

but I didn't grow out

I'm still full of doubt--

thus describes my fertile drought
