I have scars.
Deep, long, jagged scars that show
how much pain I've endured
and how much I've grown
These scars aren't just testaments
to what I've been through
but a reformed past
covered by a tattoo
These scars are an oath to myself
they say "never again"
will I hurt in that way
and my skin, this I will defend.
