Hugo and Lavine? one-shot story

        Hugo Duane Agreste, son of Adrien and Marinette Agreste is not sure how to go about what he plans for the day!  How does one plan such a thing anyway?  It is not as if it is everyday he asks the girl he loves to be his forever and ever!  He sighs.  He puts his head down in shame. 

       Why out of all the Agreste children did he have to be the shy one?  The one to take after his mother, why could he have not been more like his older siblings, Elizabeth, and Emma, or maybe even more like his adopted brother, Louis?  All his sisters and his one brother were why more out going than he ever was!  He was the middle child, the least popular, the most prone to fail at math and science, the least likely to ever have much of a life, to get a job or amount to anything.

     Yet despite all odds, Hugo was superhero!  A secret one, but one none the less!  Hugo also, was the one who ran away when things go tough for him as a teen, the one who thought the girl of his dreams could care less about him, the one who did not notice when his sister Elizabeth's  heart was almost crushed by her own crush, the one everyone thought had died, and the one who came back home in the end!  Yes, he was the rebellious one!  The one everyone loves  and some even hate.  Hugo goes over all these things in his mind over and over again.

    Hugo often wonders, how did he get to be with the love of his life anyway?  It was a mystery to him what she ever saw in him!  It was not as if he was the most kind person ever!  Why when he first met her he was alright rude to her, a bully, a snob as you would have it!  Now, look at him, he is home and he gets to date her.  Ironic how things often turn out different than some would think about such things.  

   Hugo loves Lavine!  He is certain of this!  The only problem is that he also cares about another girl too.  This other girl is the current Ladybug of  Paris, France the one chosen to take over after his mother retires from the job.  He has no idea as to her identity anymore than she knows who he is behind the mask!  He just knows she is precious to him!  Why with such a predicament as his it is no wonder he struggles about the whole engagement thing!  How is to stay true to his love for Lavine, when he also loves this Ladybug who calls herself  "Lady Chick,"  for reasons unknown to him. 

     Meanwhile, Lavine too has her own troubles.  She is in love with her boyfriend Hugo!  Why she can hardly stand it when he is away for only a day or two!  She knows he almost died on her once and ever since any time apart has been hard on her!  She also, knows she likes her partner this mystery boy who calls himself  Chat Noir, or on some rare occasion, simply, Noir.  She can also, tell he kinda likes her in her alter ego persona as "Lady Chick."   She even notices her occasional other helpers, Lady Chat and Rascal Racoon appear to like one another.  She often wonders what keeps them apart?   When it comes to matters of the heart she is one conflicted girl!  

     Lavine wishes to marry Hugo, but if she does will it put a wedge between her and Chat?   She is so unsure what to think, or do!  Ugh, if only things were so much easier for her!  Why could Chat not be the same person as her precious, Hugo why then, perhaps it would be easier for her!   Little does she know he often thinks the same about her and Lady Chick.

   Hugo goes to see his woman!  He decides before the proposal there is something else he must get off his chest!  It is now or never!  He can no longer stand to keep his secret identity from her!  How can he when he claims to love her?  He feels himself sweat at the very thought of rejection once she finds out the truth!  Even so he determines that no matter the cost, he can and will show her who he is outside of his civilian self!

  Hugo rings the door bell before he can change his mind.  He smiles at Lavine when she answers the door and  she smiles back at him.  He sighs.  

"Lavine, I have a confession to make!"  Hugo says.

  "Oh, what kind of confession?"  Lavine ask.

  "Well, it is more of something I have to show you rather than just speak about right now,"  Hugo says.

   "Okay, well go ahead then!  I mean why not?  It is just the two of us here!"  Lavine says.

      Lavine looks at him and wonders what is that he talks about.  Before she can say another word about it,  she hears him call out  "Clagg, spots on!"  She stares at him as a bright light surrounds him and he turns into Chat Noir, her Chat!  She looks at him is a surprise!

   "Hugo, you are Chat?"  Lavine says when she gets over the initial shock.

   "Yes, are you okay with it?"  Hugo ask. He looks at her as if he may cry.  He fears the worse now that he has shown her his hero side.  

   "Yes, we are good!  In fact, I am so happy you are him!"  Lavine says.

    "Oh, and why is that?"  Hugo says.

   " Well, you see I was in love with you all along, but later I feel for Chat too.  I was worried for a while there I had a love for more than one person.  It is a relief to know that you are both the same boy!"  Lavine says.  She hugs him and kisses him on the lips.

     Chat kisses her back and thinks, Oh, Lavine!  I am so happy!  I can hardly believe it!  You love me no matter what this is great!   

    Suddenly, he breaks the kiss and detransforms.  

"Lavine, I have to admit I struggle with love for both you and Lady Chick!  You are not angry are you?"  Hugo ask.

   "No, that would be silly because well, I am Lady Chick!"  Lavine confesses.

   "You are?"  Hugo says. His eyes and voice both show the happy surprise he feels at the good news.

     "Yes, I have been for a while now, but I was afraid you would never accept me," Lavine says.

     "Same here,"  Hugo says.

      "Haha, I guess we are both such goofy people then!  No wonder we get along so well!"  Lavine says.

     "Lavine?"  Hugo begins as he gets on one knee.

    "Hugo?  What are you?"  Lavine looks at him and puts her hand over her mouth.  She sees a box and it is open with a ring inside. 

    "Lavine  Loraine  Jones, will you marry me?"  Hugo says.  

    "Y-Yes!"  Lavine says as she feels her eyes fill up with tears of happiness.

     Hugo kisses her as he places the ring gently on her left ring finger.  He is happy.  Maybe his luck is as bad as he once thought it was after all!  He was now engaged to his Lavine and nothing, not even Hawkmoth, or his former enemy Marcus could stop it !
