She had his heart,

The heart of a werewolf.

And he’s the werewolf.

Did she ever know that?

He looked down on the animal trail where the light illuminated by the full moon shone. The ground became muddy from last nights’ rain, thus the mud on his sneakers. But he didn’t care at all. His dark black hair lay limp, dripping with water. He was literally soaked to the bone. His clothes stuck to his body. His fists were clenched and his eyes were a mix of emotions.

If only this could be a fairy tale.

She just gives him the energy to live.

He can’t imagine a different way to go on.

Just being near her makes him refreshed.

The forest was thick with lush trees. Nocturnal animals roamed the night to search for their victims. He heard the howling of the wolves, the hooting of the owls and the songs of the crickets. He slowed his pace and stopped under a huge willow tree. The long leaves brushed against the tips of his hair, tickling his cheeks. Still, he paid them no heed.

He just sounded so lovesick.

It just hurts his heart.

To not be able to see the way he used to.

To be filled with confusion from inside.

He opened the palm of his hand and felt the movements of the leaves, swaying together with the wind. His eyes caught something off a glimpse. It was words craved onto the trunk of the willow. Dropping down to his knees, his fingers brushed over the words, a frown curving onto his lips.

Things never seem the way they are.

One wrong move can ruin everything.

The strongest of links is also the weakest of the link.

The wind blew again. He felt his body shiver and yet, he did nothing. His attention was on the words.

‘We will always stay together. No matter what happens. The three of us; together forever.’

Thoughts ran in his head. He was so confused.

‘Weren’t we all friends? What should I be doing after that incident…? I don’t know anymore…’

From friends into lovers,

Sometimes he wished that could happen.

But destiny just fancies playing with their fates.

Sound of wet footsteps was squishing on the muddy ground, headed in his direction. He ignored them and carried on thinking. The sounds stopped. He felt a presence right behind but again, he paid it no heed. A hand rested on his shoulder and he brought his head up to look at the person. His eyes were the same as his. They felt the same way. All these because of her.

Eyes never lie.

Words can hide as much as one wants.

But they can never hide their true feelings.

“Kaden, I had no idea you felt the same way as I do…” his voice broke the silence between them.
