Completely worried, I stared into Charlie's petrified face upon noticing Namjoon's presence the following day. This guy did nothing but remind Charlie, her position.

"Do not touch the prince's hair."

"You are to stay 3 feet behind when accompanying him."

"Mind the territorial lines. Do not trespass at the prince's quarters."

"Do not eat before the prince."

"Do not look at him straight in the eye."

"Do not touch him so casually."

"No dolls during meals."

Etc.

I wanted to kick him out of the palace but my grandfather is too fond of him...and he's my friend. He's seriously doing his job.

In a remorseful way, I eyed Charlie every single time. Whenever I get the chance to grace her with a smile, she quickly responds with a soft smile too and mouths;

It's okay your highness.

One situation really got him on my nerves. When he grabbed Charlie by the arm and led her rudely to another seat, farther and across my spot.

"New mistress stays distant from the prince. How many times do I have to remind you to keep your distance?!"

Eyes furrowed, I glared at him and followed his every move.

I snapped upon seeing the mark of his hand on my Charlie's arm;

"Would you have done the same thing if your sister was in her shoes now."

He stopped and bowed at me.

"I'm just doing my job, your highness"

"It seems to me that you're stepping beyond your obligation. All of those rules are true and to be followed. But did you also forget that these rules can change anytime as long as I ordered them to? Do you think treating  my mistress that way doesn't offend me?...Namjoon, I am nicely warning you to stop harassing Charlie."

I stood, gently held her hand and pulled her to a seat beside me.

I inspected her arm and was more aggravated to see Namjoon's finger marks turned purple.

"Aiiiiishhhh look what you've done!"

"Y-your highness, I'm okay, don't-shhhh, it's okay..."

Charlie worriedly eyed Namjoon whose dagger eyes, stuck on her, while she worriedly held my face.
