"Adviser Min. I do understand that you are quite loyal to the prince. But why do you tolerate such misbehavior?"

The rest of the mistresses curiously glanced at me at what Mari just declared. I crossed my arms and sternly eyed her;

"I hope you know exactly what you're trying to throw on me, mistress. What are you talking about."

I saw an anguish glint on her captivating eyes. She shifted her weight and pushed her hair back before speaking.

"The newbie isn't in her quarters last night."

Miso, as expected, raised her hand;

"She's w-with me...she sle-"

"SHUT UP!"

She interrupted.

"What about the other night? The night before that?! You think I don't know?!"

At that part the other mistresses exchanged glances.

She faced Kyung-mi and Eun-ae;

"The newbie is sleeping at the prince's quarters and he's allowing it!"

The 2 concerned mistresses then cast me a glance. Trying to confirm what Mari was accusing me of.

"Do you have any sort of tangible proof mistress."

I nonchalantly delivered without blinking my eyes.

"Then how can you explain the newbie's absence every night?!"

I chuckled;

"Were you guarding her house the whole evening, mistress?"

"NO. BUT SEEING HER IN ONE OF THE PRINCE'S ROBES ONE EARLY MORNING IS KIND OF QUESTIONABLE."

I was a bit taken aback. But of course, I can't let them see that.

"How sure are you, mistress."

I narrowed my eyes.

She shook her head in fury as she wasn't getting any sort of reaction from me. But before leaving she looked back;

"Hah. How can I forget...she is your favorite too. I wouldn't be surprised if one day, that girl would sleep in your quarters too."

I felt my nerves protrude in contempt;

"You do realize that is an offensement on my side, mistress...and there is a consequence for that."

At that part she was evidently shaken as she shushed.

"I'll let you slide for now. But don't  push me to my limits as I can actually complain you to the crown prince himself. Don't get too comfortable insulting people around this territory Mari. That's a warning."
