Mika
“Mamita!” I called my mom as I went down our stairs. It was Saturday once again. One week na pala yung nakakaraan since I went to Chester’s birthday party.
“Mamita?” I called once again pero wala pa ring sumagot. Nasaan kaya sya?
“Lola Mamita?” si Lola naman ang sinubukan kong tawagin but still wala ding sumagot sa akin.
“Haist! I ask myself as I entered our kitchen. I opened the fridge and then I took out the milk container and poured its contents in a glass. I started drinking it.
“Mamita, san ba kayo nanggaling? Kanina ko pa kayo tinatawag.” I ask her. Tinanggal nya yung gardening gloves na suot nya and then nilapag nya ito dun sa kitchen counter.
“Nasa garden ako ng Lola Mamita mo. She asked me to tend to her plants today.” My mom said as she opened the fridge and then inilabas yung orange juice.
I ask and then I continued drinking my milk.
“She went out on a date.”
“What?????” halos mabilaukan kong tinanong si Mommy. “Date? Are you kidding me?”
“Nope. She really did go out on a date.” My mom said.
“Hindi ba parang sobrang tanda na ni Lola Mamita for that Mamita?” Atsaka ayoko ng magakaroon pa ng bagong Lolo. I forbid it!
“Would you please relax hija.” My mom said. “I trust the guy that she is with now.”
“Mika, don’t worry. I told you that I trust the man she is with now.
They are realky weird sometimes. (-___-)
“Mika.” My mom called me tapos lumapit sya sa akin and then she hold both my hands.
“What? Don’t tell me may balak ka ding makipag-date with some guy?” I said to my mom. By the way she looks at me right now alam kong may hihilingin sya sa akin.
“I have a favor to ask you.”
See? Sabi ko na nga ba! (-_____-! )
“What is it this time Mamita?” I ask then my mom gave me a huge smile.
Infront of a coffee shop…
I am still staring at the door knob. Unti-unti ko ulit inangat yung kamay ko papalit sa door knob pero I pulled it away once again.
Bakit ba ako nagpadala kay Mamita? Nakakainis!
“C’mon Mikaela you can do this! Let’s get in there and get this thing over with as fast as we can okay?” I said to myself. I finally grabed the door knob, turned it and went inside the shop.
