Apollo was resting on a chair, his eyes closed when a tall shadow fell before the light shining through his eyelids.
"What?" The god whispered, not in the mood to deal with anything. He didn't even bother to open his eyes.
"Your sister brought another mundane into the institute." Alec replied.
"Alec, darling, I'm Clary's adoptive brother, not her keeper. Don't try to make me so." Despite what he said, Apollo still stood and walked over to where Clary was, realising Simon was there as well..
"He's not a killer. He's protecting us." Apollo heard Clary say.
"Specifically, you. It's sort of our thing." Jace smirked, his face quickly dropping when he felt Apollo's searing heat behind him.
"Your thing? You guys have a thing?" Simon's head flung back and forth between the two. Apollo clamped his hands on Simon's shoulders.
"He means a Shadowhunter thing. That's what they do, protecting humans from demons." Apollo smiled brightly at the nerdy boy, slipping his arm around his waist affectionately.
"Demons, right. That makes perfect sense, 'cause there are demons running all around New York." Instead of pulling away from Apollo, Simon just sighed and continued their conversation. He was used to the gods antics by now, especially his need for affection at any and every moment.
"That is the first correct thing you've said all day." Apollo then got bored with the conversation and decided just to stare at Alec, who was on the other side of the institute, glaring at Clary.
"What is going on? Why is there a mundane in the Institute?" Alec made his way to the four people grouped around the monitors.
"A Circle member followed him to get to Clary." Jace said. Apollo's eyes widened, looking Simon over, making sure the boy wasn't hurt. Simon just brushed away Apollo's fussing hands.
"A Circle rune, just like the guys that took my mother." Apollo moved from Simon's side to embrace the smaller girl, knowing that she would be blaming herself for what happened.
"What exactly is a Circle member and why are they trying to kill us?" Simon asked, confused. Apollo just gave the boy another side smirk and wiggled his eyebrows.
"All we know is a long time ago the Circle led a revolt. A lot of Shadowhunter's got killed, including my father. And since the revolt we've been forbidden to even hear about the Circle." Jace replied. Apollo opened his mouth to speak, but thought better of it. The less they knew, the better, the uprising was full of tragedy, one that no one in the room wanted to relive.
"But, how is that even possible? It's your history." Clary exclaimed.
"Says the girl who didn't know she was a Shadowhunter?" Apollo glared at Jace for his statement.
"That was Jocelyn's choice not to tell Clary. It was for her own protection." Apollo's eyes glowing golden, a threatening scowl on his face.
"Yeah. Yeah, you're right." Clary nodded to Jace's statement, putting her hand on the gods bicep to calm him down. "And now the only person who knows the truth is missing, so I don't care about your rules or what's forbidden, I'm," Clary sighed. "There's got to be someone out there who can tell us why they've taken my mother."
