"WHERE ARE we? This isn't the police station." Clary was struggling against Alaric. She was trying to get back to the car, where Apollo was.

"Just cooperate and everything will be fine." Alaric told her but she continued to pull against him.

"Get out!" Another man shouted at Simon who was clutching Apollo's body. He refused to get out of the car and was forcefully removed.

"We didn't do anything wrong." Clary yelled.

"Be quiet or you're gonna make this worse for yourself." One of the men growled at her.

"Hey, you're not a cop! Alaric, who is this guy?" Clary fumed at the man.

"Luke's calling." Alaric ignored Clary and instead turned to the other man.

"Ignore it. That's an order." The man growled, pointing at two guys and motioning them to the car where Apollo's body lay.

"Are you guys with Luke? Did he send you?" Clary started freaking out and struggling further.

"None of your business." He growled and that was the end of that conversation.

Alec was stood outside of the Fray loft, he heart aching and he felt like tearing his heart out and screaming. The last he ever saw of Apollo was the knife sticking out of his chest. Now Alec would never see that smile again.

"Damn it. She's not showing up. We need to parabatai track." Jace made his way toward Alec, trying to get him to concentrate on the track and not wherever else his mind was. Little did Jace know, it was on the dead god. "Alec, concentrate. Alec!"

"I'm doing it." Alec defended himself. "She's not showing up." Tears started to pool in Alec's eyes.

"Just like I thought. She wasn't arrested." Alec rolled his eyes at Jace. Of course they weren't arrested. Apollo wouldn't have been killed if they were just arrested. "It was your job to look after her." Isabelle watched the tension thicken as the two parabatai faced each other.

"I did my best, Jace." That was Alec's warning. It was his hidden way of telling Jace to back off. It was the calm before what was to be a great tidal storm.

"Then maybe your mother was right, and your best is just isn't good enough." Alec didn't give Jace enough time to regret his remark. All he saw was red and suddenly he was tackling Jace to the ground, fists colliding with the blondes faces.

"Jace! Alec! Hey!" Isabelle came between the two fighting boys.

"Are you so blinded by your feelings for Clary, you've lost sight of us? Clary snuck out. I went after her to protect her. You don't even care that they took Simon and Apollo. You don't even care that Apollo is dead! You're so happy to ride on your ego when it's to get the girl but you forget that everyone around her is getting hurt. But you just don't care. I tried to protect her. I did nothing you haven't done a thousand times before." Alec went to lunge at the blonde again before Isabelle touched his shoulder in comfort.

"Yes, you did. You lost her." Jace snarled.

"It's always fucking about her!" Alec spat through his teeth. He was over Jace's idiotic plot to always be hee savior.
