Third-person POV/ Harry's POV

"Oi Draco!"

"Potter? What do you want-"

"Are you a parking ticket?"

"A what now?"

"Because you've got fine written all over you~"

"...I'm going to be late to potions."

With that, Harry watched the blond walk down the corridor with somewhat impressive speed. This was how the Gryffindor had been speaking to Draco for about a month now - after he managed to sort out his feelings towards the other boy of course. That took a long time in itself.

It may have seemed a little out of character at first but at this point most people were used to it. They still turned to see what line Harry would throw out that day.

He insisted that it was working, but Draco always had to say otherwise.

~~~~~~~~~~
He tried once again before dinner, waiting outside the great hall for the blond and his friends, who have started stepping aside when they see Harry waiting around.
Just as he expected, the other trio walked around the corner. Pansy offered a strained smile and Blaise nodded, placing a hand on Draco's shoulder, who was currently looking stubbornly anywhere but Harry.
The other two stepped aside and Draco glared at them.
"What now, Potter."
Harry smiled, Draco had long-stopped trying to run away when the Gryffindor stopped him
"It's just.. have you been around any bees recently?"
"..Bees?"
"Yeah, sorry, I just assumed - you look sweeter then honey~"
"Oh, sod off" Draco scoffed, pushing past Harry into the Great Hall. He was closely followed by Pansy and Blaise.
The next time Harry spoke to Draco was in class the next day, Harry was next to Hermione, Ron was in front of them. Draco was directly across  them - not willingly. So naturally Harry turned to stare at him whenever he decided he wanted to.
Of course, at one point Draco got fed up with feeling Harry staring at him. He wasn't dumb enough to speak up about it - but he did offer a dramatic eye-roll and a sigh. That was enough to set Harry off - he smiled triumphantly
"I'm sorry for staring.. must be something wrong with my eyes" He pulled off his glasses and wiped them with the corner of his sleeve. After placing them back on he focused on Draco's frowning face.
"Yeah, I can't seem to take them off you." His smile widened when the other boy huffed and turned back to the front of the room with a pout.
Harry continued to sneak glances at Draco throughout the rest of the class, his smiles softening greatly to something gentle and more sincere throughout the rest of the class.
~~~~~~~~~~

As much as he hated to admit it - Harry's pick-up lines had almost become a routine part of his day. He'd even begun to enjoy them - not that he'd tell anyone that. Of course, he was confused at first - how often does the boy you've been crushing on for years start throwing, horrible, pick-up lines at you whenever he gets the chance to? Answer- not often. at all.

Speak of the devil, Harry was striding down the hall with Granger and Weasley shooting almost sympathetic looks Draco's way. The Ravenette was yet to notice Draco, but it was inevitable, so he decided to just lean against the nearest wall and wait.

Draco saw Harry stop talking mid-sentence, eyes brightening when he spotted him.

"Hey Draco!"

"Potter."

The Gryffindor tilted his head and looked Draco up and down before smiling warmly

"You look tired."

The blond frowned, once again not sure where Harry was going with this.

"Must be from running through my mind all day."

Instead of his normal, huff and pout and walk/look away, he decided to offer a smile,

"Yeah, that could be it." He saw the flicker of surprise on Harry's face before he turned around and continued walking to breakfast.

~~~~~~~~~~
It'd been a couple days since Draco had begun responding positively to Harry's pick-up lines, he had begun smiling and answering the lines as if it was a normal conversation - which between these two, it might as well have been. He had even begun waiting around when he saw Harry.
"I'm telling you, he's not annoyed by it! Well, anymore,"
"Harry, please, just.. be careful, ok?"
"I will, 'Mione"
Hermione nodded and began walking down the stairs, only turning back when she saw Harry wasn't following after her.
"Harry?"
That was when she spotted the familiar grin, the one that signalled he wouldn't hear what she was saying - that meant all his attention was being pulled towards.. yup. Draco was stood by the bottom of the stairs, seemingly waiting for Harry, again.
Hermione sighed and smiled weakly as Harry bounded down the large staircase.
"Careful, you don't want to fall over-"
And.. there he goes.
Harry stumbled down the last few stairs and landed clumsily with his chest to the ground. When he looked up- Harry was surprised to see a smooth, pale hand offering to help him up. He gladly took it, already planning to spill another pick-up line.
What really surprised him was when Draco cut him off,
"Hey, did that hurt?"
Harry's goofy smile still sat in place on his face,
"What? When I fell from heaven-"
"No."
"Huh-? Isn't that how it goes?" Harry tilted his head in confusion, waiting for Draco to respond
"Did it hurt when you fell for me?"
"I- uh.. wh- well.. yeah-"
Harry felt Draco let go of his hand, and watched the blonde walk casually down the hallway, most likely smirking while Harry looked like a shocked goldfish.
Right- I know Harry was kinda out of character in this chapter but I had fun writing it- I probably could have made it James and Lily but.. welp.. too late for that now I guess.
