Travis sits next to the fragile blue boy on the bench. The park was quiet and the chilling wind caused a shiver to rush up the taller boy's spine. There is a delicate silence that surrounds the two. It was so delicate that it would break like glass if either of them spoke. Travis looked up at the cloudy sky that looked like tears would be shed from the clouds if provoked.  He looked at the blue boy on his left who was fidgeting with his sleeve.

"Sally face..." he says softly, "did you remember to take your medication this morning?"

Sal nods, a weak laugh follows.

"I did, I'm just worried about something else."

Travis raises an eyebrow.

"Which is...?"

Sal, who was already sitting right next to the blonde boy,  rests his head on his shoulder, squeezing Travis' hand.

"I'm worried I am going to have a bad dream again tonight," he responds in a hushed tone as if he said it that the bad dream would somehow hear and haunt him when he falls asleep.

Travis gently rubs tiny circles into Sal's hand with his thumb.

"I'm spending the night tonight. No need to worry, I'll be there to keep you safe," Travis responds.

Sal nervously bites what remains of his lip behind his prosthetic.

"That's what I am afraid of," Sal begins, "what if I wake up hysterical and I scare you away. Hell, you didn't see me without my prosthetic until last week and we have been dating for almost six months."

Sal's voice becomes shaky which causes Travis' heart to sink. Travis positioned himself on the bench so he would be face to face with his boyfriend. He softly lifts up the prosthetic so that he is able to delicately place his hand on Sal's damaged cheek. Warm tears rush from Sal's organic eye onto his hand. He wipes it away with his thumb, frowning.

"You could never scare me away, how could you ever say that? You have just...always been there for me, even when I would bully you...when you talked me in the bathroom that one time...I..."

The words get caught up in his throat as his throat tightens.

"You mean so much to me, how could I just run away?"

Travis is crying now.

Sal rushed to quickly wipe away his tears. He then removes Travis' hand from his face and intertwines their fingers together. Sal kisses Travis' hand and holds it against his scarred cheek.

"It's okay to cry.."

Travis whimpers and nods. He desperately tries to push down memories of when he would cry in front of his dad and he would hit him telling him that men aren't allowed to cry.  Sal notices this. How could he not? He holds both of Travis' hands.

"Trav...come on, let's go back to my house. It's okay. We're okay," Sal whispers as he lightly squeezes his hands.
