Chapter 4: lights out

April 2171
I wake up tied down to my bed. I look down at my arm which is now properly bandaged. I notice a guard sitting by the door. His hair is sandy blond and is buzz cut which is strange to see. His eyes are warm hazel eyes and he's at least 5'7 feet tall. He sees me awake studying him and quickly pulls the chair over to my bed.
"Jeremy says hi" he whispers.

"You slide that note under my door didn't you?" I ask

"Yes. They think you tried to kill yourself which is good because they don't expect anything" he tells me

"Wait how long have I been out"

"Only a few hours. They had you in the hospital ward to stitch you up and bandage you before bringing you back here. I have to take you to dinner when I bring you back here I'm going to loosen your restraints and you must keep quiet till it's time"

"Did they find the scalpel?"

"No and don't tell me where you hid it but your gonna need it"

"Okay. When do I know when it's time to go?"

"Jeramy will tell you that" he starts to loosen my restraints and I sit up.

"I need to handcuff you. Let's go" he says as I stand and he handcuffs me. He leads me out of my cell and to the cafeteria. I'm put back next to Jeremy.

"The power is failing" jeremy he begins

"I know"

"Lucas told me something that will definitely help us escape faster" he looks towered the guard who brought me here.

"The people know"

"Wait everyone"

"Section 2, 4, 5 ,6 they know and there planning on revolting tonight. The back up generators are dead and tonight there keeping the power on to stop any revolt but eventually all the power will die and the entire bunker will go black" he explains

"How are there still lights now?"

"Before I came here there was a rumor the power was being generated by a alien spaceship from the war"

"Sounds possible"

"But it's not. I've seen the generators. There dying and when they die the bunker will be plunged into darkness"

"We need to get my friend jack before we leave"

"Tell Lucas to give him a message"

"Okay and also do you know here they would put my brother Apollo"

"Wait you said Apollo?"

"Yes he's my little brother"

"He was in the hospital yesterday" he quietly says and I'm struck with fear that my brother is seriously hurt or dead. He wasn't even apart of this. It's my fault he's here just like it's my fault my mother was executed.

"Do you know what happened?" I ask

"He started a fight with one of the guards. He was beaten pretty bad. He was in the cell next to mine and I remember hearing him being taken to the hospital. Don't worry I know how to get there and we will save him" Jeremy reassures me.

"He's my only family" i tell him close to tears.

"Why is he here?" He asks

"Because of me"

One month ago march 2171

I run next to jack as we bolt across the agriculture field. We sneak under the barbed wire fence and into section 6. We run till we get to a small house and we go in through the back door. There's 10 others sitting around talking and drinking beer. We join them.
