--TIME-SKIP: CONNOR AND EVAN ARE HOME NOW--
3D PERSON POV:
"EVAN! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? IT'S LATE?" Heidi scolded "I WAS WORRIED SICK!"
"Hi mom, I-I'm sorry I just-" Evan started to say
"NO EVAN. DON'T DO THIS AGAIN, PLEASE. IT'S LATE! I HAD NO IDEA WHERE YOU WERE. YOU DIDN'T CHECK YOUR PHONE ONCE!" Heidi continued to yell.
That moment, she saw Connor standing there, still close to the door. He looked panicked.
"Oh - I'm sorry for all this. Why don't you sit down?" She patted the chair in the table near where she was standing. "I just need to talk to Evan for a second. Make yourself comfortable."
Heidi quickly walked Evan towards another room, and Connor could hear them talking, but couldn't seem to figure out what it was about. Evan had explained everything to his mother, why he was late, why they were both soaking wet, and asked if Connor could stay over. Of course, Heidi said yes. She was exited that Evan had finally met somebody in school. It was the first time Evan had ever invited somebody over.
"Hello Connor. I'm sorry about all this, you can stay the night if you would like to."
"Thanks Mrs.Hansen." Connor said, trying to be polite.
"Oh, you don't have to call me that! Heh, just call me Heidi."
"Oh - thanks, Mrs. Ha- er, Heidi." Connor responded."No problem," Heidi reassured him.
--TIME SKIP: AFTER DINNER--
EVAN'S POV:
It was a Friday night anyway, so it didn't really matter if we stayed up too late. But it felt really awkward - this was pretty much my first time actually talking to him. And he's literally going to stay over at my house for the night. Because I stopped him from killing himself. And this morning, I had no idea whatsoever that any of this would even happen. I overheard his phone call with his mother. On the other end of the line, she sounded exited, but also kind of worried. Maybe because it was all of a sudden. Maybe because she had no idea who I was.
I looked at Connor and smiled. And for the first time ever, I saw him smile back at me. Not just smile. He started giggling. Then laughing. Then full on screaming - what was so funny? I started laughing along but I had no idea what was going on. "W-what is it? What's funny?" I asked. "Pshh... Hansen, you should see your face" he scoffed. Wait... what? Did I look stupid? "W-what do you mean Connor?" "You're face. It's all red."
((what owo sis.... is this what the gays call being gay lmao))
"Pffft. Gosh Ev, if you're gay you should've just told me."Connor told me.
"W-what? I-I'm sorry I guess it's just that, uh, never mind uh- sorry." I replied, still confused by what he was talking about. Was I blushing? Why? I didn't even like him. I don't like guys. I'm straight. Whatever.
I looked up at Connor, still sitting up and laughing. I looked away quickly, embarrassed. Oh... he's... wow. He's kinda pretty. No, I shouldn't think this. I'm straight. I obviously like Zoe, not him. ...Right? Right?
Right?
"Anyways," - he interrupted "Thanks for letting me stay over. Your mom is really nice. And, that was really nice of you, I guess." "Jeez - I sound so rude. I'm sorry. Thank's a lot. I mean it."
"Is this really Connor Murphy I'm talking to?" I accidentally said out loud.
"I - uh... sorry; I know I can be a dick a lot at school. Okay yeah I'm a huge fucking dick. You know what - this is stupid. Sorry Hansen. I should just go home now." Connor responded.
I couldn't help it though. I started giggling, then laughing, then full on rolling on the floor. Gosh, this boy's choice of words is literally worse than Jared's. He must have realized what he said because he started snorting and laughing along with me.
"So uh-- do you want t-to... do you want to do something? Like watch a movie or- I'm sorry that sounds so weird I'm sorry we don't have to that sounds weird sorry,," I suggested. What was I thinking? He must think I'm gay for him or something. Which I am not. I'm 100% straight. Why am I telling myself this? I don't need to remind myself. Totally not. I think, No, I don't think. I'm absolutely sure.
But he does have a gorgeous laugh. And smile. Why do I think this now? Right, because he was so rude to everyone and he was so terrible that he never ever smiled or laughed he just hurt everyone. But is he different? Is he? He has to be right? I just can't think straight right now.
Author: NO SHIT SHERLOCK, YOU AIN'T STRAIGHT
"Sure! Uh- I mean, yeah, whatever you want I guess..." His voice started trailing off. "What kinda stuff do you like to watch? I love horror. It's the best - uh but... sorry I don't really care we can just do y'know... uh... well... what kind of movies do you like to watch? Only if you want to though. No pressure Ev'."
I could feel my face burning up. Was I embarrassed? No, that wasn't right. I guess... I just... liked that name? Or maybe it was cause it's a nickname and friends give each other nicknames. My eyes lit up - was Connor my friend now? I hoped he was. Should I have? He's always been so mean to me. And to his sister.
"Uh- yeah of course! We c-can watch whatever you want. Since you like horror... hmm... do you want to watch that new movie that just came out? "The prodigy" I responded in a dramatic tone.
"Pshh yeah, of course dude. Uh - urm.. Evan... or uh... sorry. Evan."
"What's wrong?" I asked, worried because he seemed hesitant to talk to me sometimes.
"No no- I'm sorry, it's just that... god I don't mean to sound pathetic or pitiful but I've never had friends before. I don't - I don't know what I'm supposed to say or do or anything-" He started saying
"Me neither Murphy. But at least you got me now."
He looked back at me, with a grin on his face.
