"What?" The red head blurts after a few seconds of confusion. Her dark jade green eyes widen to the size of Jupiter.
"Don't you speak English? I thought you were smart." I tease. "I said go on a date with me. I'll tell you everything about last night, then you have to go out with me." I explain.
She backs away a little. Her eyes are still large while her hair that is barely dry starts to curl into its natural form.
"W-why would you want to go on a date with me?" She asks with a small, hardly noticeable, stutter.
I think for a second before not really finding an answer.
"I don't know, but I know I like messing with you. And the best way to do so is to get to know my sweet new neighbor." I say sweetly. It's obviously fake but the look on Maksean's face is priceless.
"Plus, all the guys think I got you in bed last night. So if you don't want a rumor to spread, it might do you some good to do as I say."
"What?" She exclaims, jumping to the side, latching onto my arm. She shoves me into my mattress while pinning my hands to my side. Her strong grip and glare almost caused me to shiver. Almost. I'm totally not scared in the slightest by the girl who loves to beat on a drum for fun while lugging it around a field without breaking a sweat. Nope. Not scared one bit.
"Wow. I said they think. Meaning it never happened. But, I mean, if you want it to, you could've just asked. No need for all the shoving. This isn't exactly the largest bed." I said with a smirk. Which only faded as she drew her face closer. Her hair fell around my face ever so slightly brushing my cheeks. Her green eyes gaze into mine with some much anger and another emotion. She's completely different than last night when she was crying and so helpless. But somehow I know those feelings are still in there, just deep down where you won't see.
"Explain. Now." She demands, her waffle breath hitting my nostrils.
"I would've done so without the shoving you know."
"Now." She tightened her grip.
"Fine."
I spend the next ten minutes explaining all I knew from last night up until her arriving here. By the end, she had a saddened expression on her face. Once I was done, she leaned back letting go of my wrist. The position would've looked dirty, and if it wasn't for the look in her eyes that read "I'm about to break down" I would've made a joke. I sit up with her now on my lap. She doesn't seem to notice until I wipe a single tear off her cheek.
She flinches at the touch before shaking her head. Her hair flies around hitting my face, but I pay it no mind.
"Maksie?" I ask softly.
She looks up at me with pink eyes before getting up and heading to the bathroom in a hurried pace.
I listen as the sink runs for a few seconds. Once it stops, I count to five before she walks back out sniffling.
"Can I please borrow a hair brush?" She asked politely. I don't like it, but I nod watching her grab the blue brush. A random smile makes its way to my lips as I watch her brush her hair. A couple minutes later she turns to me with an attempt at her normal grin on her face, though I know it's fake.
"So next Friday around five?" She asked.
"Huh?"
"The date. Is that...." she trailed on. "Is that a good day?"
"The date? Oh, yeah. Sure that's perfect. I'll pick you up." I completely forgot about it when she started to cry.
"Okay. Goodbye. See ya at school."
