She's alone here.

In the dark.

They said they'll always be here for her.

But they're not here.

She's been waiting.

It's been so long.

Where were they?

Is someone there?

Please, tell them she's here.

Please tell them to save her.

There's a growing patch of white behind her.

It's been steadily growing ever since she got here.

She doesn't want to leave just yet.

She can't.

They still needed her.

Right?

Didn't they?

Why didn't they save her?

Why didn't they stop her from leaving?

She can't stop herself.

She's been here for too long.

As the white enclosed around her, she took one last look behind the darkness before leaving forever.

For a while, I find myself walking.

Just walking...

The ground I step on isn't solid but it holds whenever I take another step.

It feels like I'm walking on air almost, in this dark, dark place.

No one is here.

Only me.

Maybe this is where I've always belonged.

Maybe this is how it ends for me.

The darkness instead of the light.

"Is someone there?"

A small voice called out, sounding in pain and lost.

I turn my head at attention of the voice, brows furrowing.

My long black cloak flap behind me as the voice grows closer.

"Please save me,"

Eventually the darkness morphs.

A lone figure sat on the ground, knees to her chest and head buried into her hands.

I stare at her for a long moment, seeing how badly her body is damaged, bloody, torn.

Her jumpsuit is practically in chunks and she's covered in grime with her long brown hair falling around her.

Her image is shattering.

She is the light before the dark.

My light before my dark.

She stops shaking suddenly and raises her head to meet mine. For a while we locked eyes.

Brown to black.

She stares at my face first, then down my body and up again.

"Is that what happens?" Her voice cracks.

I don't answer.

"Is that what happens when they don't find me?"

Hesitantly, I nod.

"You let it happen, didn't you? You were weak."

"You were broken," I find my voice, forcing it out with as much emotion as I can. "I protected you. I made sure you never got to be hurt ever again."

She breaks eye contact from me and stares at the ground, lost for words. "Then stop protecting me."

A growing patch of white behind her began to grow, illuminating the darkness under it's brilliant light.

"Because the truth is, you're not protecting anyone."

Closing my eyes, I let my head fall in shame at her words.

"You're a part of me," I tell her, holding my hand out. "You'll always be a part of me."

"Just as they are my weakness." She says, standing up to her full height.

I trailed my gaze down her jumpsuit, eyes scanning the familiar material and the torn part of where the scar meets her skin.

Except this never healed.

I could still see parts of blood all over her.

The familiar emblem is still on the lapel of the suit.

A solid half A.

Representing the Avengers.

We were only a meter away but as I stand here now, I felt a thousands miles away.

"I think it's time for the killing to stop, don't you think?"

"Not yet," I shake my head. "The war's not over yet."

She nods slowly at me, her gaze going down to my healed scar whereas hers remained fresh.

Never to heal. Never to go back to the way things were.

"Maybe you were wrong about one thing,"

"And what's that?"

Lorelie smiles at me, her figure already transcending across the bright light behind her.

"You're more me, then I ever was you, Dark Witch."
