"Understand the concept, Ira. The major minus point is that you memorize things and forget once your exams are over. Try understating the concept and it'll remain in your brain for a long time" Ehan advised Ira, sitting with her in the study hall to cover history that day. Ira nodded, understating what he meant.
"And you should..."
He was cut off by Honey, "Would you guys mind if I join you?" He asked, standing at a foot distance from them.
"No"
"Yes"
Came two different answers from Ira and Ehan. You could understand who said no and who said the opposite.
Ira looked at Ehan, biting her tongue, surprised by her own answer and remembering what she promised him a day ago.
Ignoring like Ehan doesn't exist, Honey took a seat beside Ira, smirking.
"So, what were you saying? Please continue" he said, earning Ehan's hard look.
"Practice your handwriting for now. I have some work" Ehan said to Ira in a serious tone, it was his turn to ignore Honey like he doesn't exist.
Ira delightfully took out the worksheets and started practicing.
Not even a few seconds passed and Honey opened his mouth, "Wow! You are pretty good. You have improved your hand writing in a short time" he commented, making Ehan clench his teeth.
"Thank you" the way Ira smiled at him, added fuel to the fire, burning in Ehan's heart. He stood up without a word and took his bag.
"Where are you going?" Ira stood up next, noticing Ehan stand up. He ignored her question and went out, leaving her stunned, staring at his back.
"I think he's jealous of me" Honey commented, smirking at Ehan's retreating back. Ira looked back at him, her eyes remained at his face for few seconds then descended down, looking at him from head to toe. He was nowhere near Ehan, there was no comparison between them. Ehan was a heartthrob, where he was average looking. Ehan had his own style, where he clearly copies others. Ehan was a mystery, where he never stops speaking about himself. Above all these things, she could feel something when Ehan was around, where he doesn't have that effect on her.
"Why would he be jealouse of you?" She questioned seriously, not understating what he meant.
"May be because you are closer to me than him" a laugh escaped Ira's mouth. She shook her head, "Ehan thinks I'm weird. But you know, you are the weirdest" she commented, fetching her things.
"Where are you going? Our walk and ice cream date is still pending"
"It's not a date"
"Fine. Wherever you would like to call it. Now, shall we?
"Some other day. I have some work now" she lied, leaving the place.
---
Throwing his bag on the floor, Ehan dropped himself on bed. His anger, frustration and insecurities were talking over his senses. He don't know much about Honey, still he's judging him. Ira is just a girl whom he's helping with studies, still he's taking her as his major responsibility. What she does and what happens in her life was none of his business, still that's the only thing in his mind.
"What's happening?" He held his head with both his hands and groaned, shutting his eyes tight.
"I have no right over her nor her life. She or that Honey means nothing to me" he told himself.
"Yes. I should keep this in mind and behave normally, unlike the way I did today" he took deep breathes, calming himself.
He rest his back on the mattress, closing his eyes. The way Ira was asleep while writing, started to play under the curtains of his eyes, the way she smiles no matter what the situation is, the way she talks like there's no tomorrow, the way she pinched his cheeks taking him by surprise.
