Ch. 8 - Let Go

Jungkook's P.O.V. 

Jungkook stayed in his room crying, not sure about what to do. He knew he fucked up big time, but why did it take him this long to finally realize he loved Y/N. He felt like an idiot. 

He knew he had to make a change, and it would take time but he was willing to work for Y/N. 

------- Timeskip -------

A couple days had now passed since the big fight between Jungkook, Taehyung and Y/N. Jungkook had been trying his best to contact Y/N, but he had gotten no response. He was now in his room pacing back and forth "I've done everything ! Why won't he answer !" He shouted out in frustration. He then grabbed his phone, and tried calling Y/N but then again, no response. 

His activities were then interrupted by his mother knocking on the door "Kookie, remember Y/N and his family are coming over soon, so get ready" His mom spoke from the other side of the door. 

Hearing those words, it felt as if Jungkook's soul had returned to his body, he was excited to see Y/N. He decided to wear his best tuxedo, and before Y/N got back he rushed to the nearest store and bought a rose for Y/N. 

He then waited anxiously for Y/N to come, he could feel his heartbeat going crazy each time the phone rang. He was like a puppy waiting for his owner to come back home. 

Then it happened. The doorbell rang. He sprung towards the door, and opened it. He saw Y/N. He looked beautiful. Jungkook couldn't contain himself but hugged Y/N, however the hug was not reciprocated which only made Jungkook frown. 

Jungkook then took a step back, and took a deep breath "I'm sorry for everything" He began "For all those years I made you suffer, for these past couple days, let's start over please" Jungkook smiled sincerely at Y/N, and gave Y/N the rose. 

What happened next broke his heart. 

Y/N looked at the flower with a blank expression, then threw it to the floor. He walked past Jungkook without saying a single word. 

He was too late, he knew it. 

Jungkook rushed back into the house and grabbed Y/N by his wrist "Y/N... please... say something..." Jungkook begged 

"I have nothing to say..." Y/N said coldly 

"I'm begging you, please, forgive me" Jungkook's eyes began to tear up "I really do care for you now, I'm serious" 

Y/N scoffed at the statement "You don't love me, you don't know love Jungkook, all you care about is yourself !" Y/N shouted 

Jungkook couldn't help but cry, he didn't know what else to do to prove his love to Y/N. He then came to the realization that it was truly too late, and if he truly loved Y/N he would have to let Y/N go and let him be happy with Taehyung. 

"I love you, I love you enough to let you go" Jungkook began "I'm calling off the marriage, I will make it public, you can marry who you love, as long as you are happy" Jungkook said as he wiped his tears, walking up to his room and locking himself inside. 

Y/N's P.O.V. 

Y/N stood there frozen as he watched Jungkook walk up the stairs. He could feel his heart starting to beat faster. But why? Why did this hurt him? Why did his bother him? Why isn't he happy?! 

Y/N didn't know what else to do but to run out of the house, his eyes started to fill with tears. "Why am I hurting?" Y/N cried out loud as he ran away with no direction. No where to go, no one waiting for him. 

After a while he lost track of time, he was  now in an open field. It was getting dark out. He was going to grab his phone to call Taehyung, when he saw the notifications from Jungkook 

"Hey, I'm sorry about last night please forgive me ?" 

"I know you are mad at me and hate me, but please take care" 

"Make sure you eat today" 

"Stay warm, it's cold out today" 

"I know I was evil to you in the past but I can change, I can change for you" 

"I hope you are feeling better" 

"I should have not touched you like that, I'm sorry" 

"Please answer me...." 

"I miss you..." 

"I miss your voice" 

"Please answer my calls" 

"I called you today" 

"What else can I do to show you I love you" 

His heart started to crack little by little as he read the messages. He now was realizing that maybe, just maybe Jungkook really changed, and truly care for him. Then he got another message from Jungkook 

"If my fate is to disappear like this, then this is my last letter.... I know I was an asshole, no, I was evil to you and I deserve what I got. I'm just lost in this maze that's my heart..... Penned words, written then erased, feelings for you, so many to let go.... It hurts, but as long as you are happy right? To the person I loved too much I couldn't reach you, so I'll walk a separate path for that reason I'll say goodbye..." 

As Y/N read the message a lightning hit the ground, and as quickly as that happy it started to downpour. Hiding Y/N's tears with the rain on his face. "Jungkook ...." He sobbed as he fell on his knees. He could feel his heart shattering more each and every second that passed. 

"I turned into the thing I vowed not to be...." Y/N cried "I'm sorry Jungkook ..." 

Y/N stood in the rain for a couple hours, the whole time crying non stop. Regretting what he did to Jungkook, to push him that far.
