Lafayette followed Demyx outside, finding him with his back turned by the bathroom, talking to someone on the phone. Lafayette hid himself around the corner so he couldn't be seen, but he could hear.

"Yes, I've gotten close to him again. Yes, he ignored him basically the entire time, though he promised not to." Demyx turned around with a sly smirk, making Lafayette gasp a bit and hide more. "It's all going smoothly. Alright, bye, Herc. Love you," He turned his phone off and slipped it his pocket, then started to make his way back to the cafeteria. Lafayette quickly composed himself, acting as if he was going to the bathroom.

After Demyx passed, Lafayette let his features turn into a scowl. Demyx was not only working with Hercules and the others to hurt Thomas and James, but he was with Hercules! He was angry, angry with the fact that his beloved would do something like this, and angry that Hercules cut him off so quick and moved on. Lafayette loved him, so much that he had to lie so much, and this was what he got in return.

*Flashback time !!*

Lafayette entered the big school nervously, not knowing what to expect. He felt as though he'd be sick, and so many thoughts ran through his mind. But upon opening the doors, he saw him.

Hercules Mulligan.

Lafayette's best friend, and crush, through 5th grade and 7th grade, until he had to leave back to France. The boys kept in touch, and the feelings never got lost. And finally, seeing his face after all those years...

Damn, he's hot.

Pushing that aside, Lafayette smiled and approached the boy, tapping on his shoulder. Hercules turned around with wide eyes, then saw Lafayette and his face lit up like a light. The boys shared a hug, with red faces and goofy grins.

A few months later, the boys are scared half to death. They'd known about Thomas and his homophobic ways, and had confessed their feelings for each other. Lafayette was scared that him or Hercules would be hurt for their feelings. "It won't happen, Laf. We'll keep it secret, no one will know except us," Hercules reassured him, which made the Frenchman feel warm inside.

*Flashback time over !!*

Lafayette felt himself disslove into a puddle of tears just as the bell rang. Students filed into the halls. The boy covered his face with his hoodie, not wanting anyone to see him crying. He tried to walk to his locker, but was held back by Thomas.

"Hey, Laf-" Thomas spun him around and saw his tear-stained cheeks. "Whoa, what's wrong?" Lafayette hugged his arms a bit and sighed. "I need to tell you and James something." The Virginian nodded and let Lafayette go, walking with him to their lockers. "Tell us when we get to class since we all have the same one."

Throughout the 5 minutes he had alone from transition time to the beginning of class, Lafayette had troubling thoughts (and a self-esteem to match-). What if Thomas and James didn't believe him? What if they thought he was putting up a show? But he just shook his head, making his brown curls bounce.

It was gym, and the boys decided not to dress down so they'd have the chance to talk. They huddled in a corner and talked quietly, making sure nobody could hear them.

"What is it, Laf?" James asked lowly, placing his hands in his lap and sitting criss-cross. Lafayette sighed. "D-Demyx is not your friend... He's on Her- Mulligan's side," Lafayette said, feeling a few tears well in his eyes. The other two boys just stared at him for a moment. Then Thomas shook his head.

"No, no, I know Demyx. He wouldn't do something like that," Thomas folded his arms and narrowed his eyes at Lafayette. "You have to be lying." The Frenchman gave a little look of plea. "I'm not! James?"

James thought for a moment, then replied with hesitance, "I-I agree with Thomas... I don't know him well, but from hearing the stories and such, I don't think he'd do this." Lafayette stared at him in disbelief. "But-" Thomas pulled on James' arm a bit and scowled at Lafayette before walking away.

Why didn't they believe me??!

Lafayette started to hyperventilate, all the loud noises of the other kids in the gym becoming louder, the walls seemed to close in on him, and his vision got blurry. He slid down the wall and gripped at his hair, feeling hot tears stream down his face. Lafayette started shaking and sobbing, and although it was in front of the whole class, he couldn't move. He felt as though he was stuck. So he brought knees up to his chest, pulled his hood over his head, and hid the rest of his face in his legs.
