i know i did not say this before but selena somewhat had depression. her life has been hard and yeah, she had depression when she was younger but doesn't have it anymore (at least not now) and in this chapter, you'll see a bit about her past etc. i know many people will find this boring and whatever but it has to do something with the story, trust me. it'll be shown later and i just want you to get to know selena better in this story bc yeah she's different from what you may have seen.

and p.s; the starting of this chapter may sound creepy or may affect you if you don't really like depressing/scary/weird scenes but yeah it's all fiction so, hope you don't mind it.

enjoy!

♡ Chapter 14 - Restaurant (Part 1). ♡

She was standing there, in front of me. Her eyes were bloodshot and she was wearing the uniform people wear at hospitals; a white dress. She stared at me, not uttering one single word. My heart was pounding against my chest but I couldn't speak, I couldn't move.

It was her. My mom. She was alive. She was not dead. I knew it. My hand reached out for her but in a 'puff' she disappeared in ashes. I knelt down and tears flew out of my eyes. "Mom," I whispered, barely audibly. "Come back."

"Selena?" It was my dad. I finally gained the capability to stand up. I ran to him and threw my arms around his shoulder, hugging him tightly.

"D-dad, sh-she was here...," I stammered, tears still falling down my face.

He sighed and rubbed my back, "Honey, she's dead."

I shook my head violently, pulling away from him. "You don't understand!" I shouted. "She was here! She comes here every night! Nobody understands me. She's my mom and she loves me. Why don't people believe me? She was here!"

My dad stepped towards me and took my face in his large hands, "Selena!" he said sternly, dark black eyes burning in my own, "Your mom is dead. She's no more in this world! You're 15 Selena. Stop being so childish! I'm getting married to Linda next week and I--"

I covered my ears with my hands ever so childishly and closed my eyes forcefully, "No, no, no. She will never replace mom...mom will always be here," I said, slowly and quietly this time.

When I opened my eyes, my heart was pounding once again. Dad was still in front of me, a disappointed look on his face but that was not what shocked me; behind him, stood mom once again. This time, she had a knife in her hand and she slowly brought it up to her neck and started cutting her neck, the blood flowing out; dark red, almost black. She was crying but she didn't stop.

My mouth hung open but no words came out, "D-dad," I managed to say.

He shook his head at me and heaved a hand through his hair, "A therapist. Yes. You need that, Selena," he mumbled to himself as he left me there, staring at my mother who was slowly and painfully killing herself in front of me and I couldn't do anything about it, I couldn't even close my eyes nor talk nor move.

Dad didn't see her; I wondered why. He was busy looking for his phone to call a therapist.

"I'm not crazy!" I shouted, shaking my head, "I'm not crazy! I'm not crazy," I said slower this time as my eyes closed and when I opened them again, she was dead, her body laying limp on the floor; just like she did that day at the hospital.
