 ♡ Chapter 17 – Silence Treatment.

"Why did you lie to me saying you went bowling?" I asked. "When I clearly saw you at Fancy Restaurant," I breathed out slowly.

I immediately regretted the words that flew out of my mouth. Everything was going on well, we were actually getting along and he was being nice and playful but I had just to ruin the moment, didn't I? I was perfect at ruining good moments, I must admit. But there was no going back so I glanced back at Justin, hoping he'd give me an explanation for his lie.

His eyes were fixed on mine as his jaw clenched. I knew that this wasn't a good sign so I gulped, hoping he wouldn't get mad. "How did you know I was there?" he asked slowly.

            "I-I was there with—"

"You actually followed me again, didn't you?"

            "No? I—"

"I can't believe you still didn't understand that you have no right to interfere in my private life," he snapped, not giving me a chance to speak up and explain how I saw him there. He stood up, raking a hand through his hair as he huffed continuously. I really couldn't understand his attitude. Did he really think that I was stalking him? Hell, I know I somewhat did it once but I wouldn't do it again, I'm not crazy for God's sake.

I stood up also, "Will you give me the chance to talk?" I asked sternly even though I was shitless scared inside.

He turned to me, his brown eyes now piercing in my own. "I thought that you were someone nice and that you'd actually want to be friends, you see...but all you ever try to do is interfere in my life, playing the spy when it's actually none of your business where I go or what I do. It's my fucking life."

"I got it!" I shouted. "I didn't follow you, I'm not a stalker. For your information, the date I had with Luke was there. It was his idea and his restaurant, if you didn't know. I just coincidently saw you there with a strange man and your friends. So this is why I'm simply asking you why did you lie to me. It's not a big deal!"

His chest was moving up and down, his nostrils flaring. He was angry. I still don't understand why. What's the big deal if I saw him anyways? "It is still none of your business," he said calmly, in a low voice.

I nodded to myself. "I was just asking. I really thought we were friends and that you could actually just trust me a little bit," I told him.

He snickered, "I don't trust people. We may be friends but I will never trust anybody except myself. Trust and love are the hugest mistakes someone can make. I don't allow myself to make those mistakes."

I blinked a few times to process his words. "You'll have to trust and love someone eventually."

"I will not," he said determinedly. He was wrong, I knew it.

I nodded once again then I picked up my phone and my bag. "I...I think it's time for me to leave," I said quietly and didn't wait for his response. I turned on my heels and walked towards the door, both angry and confused about why he had been such a jerk when I only asked him one simple question.

"Selena...," I heard him say quietly. I stopped dead in my tracks and waited for him to continue.

He only sighed, though. "Never mind. Good Night and try to be less nosy."
