Chapter 4 - A Simple Touch

*Chirp chirp chirp*

Birds chirping outside the curtained window sang happily and cheerfully as the sun rises from behind the mountains. A piercing wave of light through the curtains hit the corner of the bed. 

Ahh.. where am I? 

Rouji opens his eyes slowly and looks around while he lies on his bed. 

I'm at my room. I see, last night.. wait.. my wounds..

He looks at his arm and sees that it was wrapped in a white bandage already. He was about to sit up and sees a girl with a furry white tail sitting on the floor and had her head placed on the bed as she slept. It was Katsune.

Katsune.. she must be very tired.. she took care of me last night I guess. I should've never doubted her. he thought as he smiled.

As he sat on his bed, he took off the blanket covering him and spaced out for a while. He twists and flexes his arm for a bit.

Hmm.. It doesn't hurt much now. But it was a cut though.. and my leg. Wait... my leg...

He looks at his leg and it was also wrapped up with a bandage. 

Wait a minute.. he looks at the corner of his bed and sees the shorts he wore last night.

Why are my shorts over there.. that means... What?! She took off my shorts last night when she cleaned my wound?! he thought as he blushed.

*Yaaaawwwnnn*

Katsune slowly gets up and stretches her arms. She slowly opens her eyes and sees Rouji staring at her.

"Good morning Rouji-kun!" she smiles.

"G-Good morning.." 

"Are you okay? Your face looks red.. do your wounds still hurt?" she sits beside him.

"N-Not really... Were you up all night?" he asks.

"No. I slept after stitching- i mean, cleaning your wounds. Hihi." she smirks.

"Wait.. you.. stitched my wound?" he looks at her wondering.

"Uh... I guess? Rouji-kun, I had to put you to sleep to stitch your wounds. That's why I put anesthesia in your water last night. Sorry." she explains.

"It's okay. I know you're just thinking about my welfare. By the way, did you by chance, take my shorts off in the process?"

"H-Huh? Well... yeah.. I had to.." she blushes.

"You didn't do anything weird to me while I was asleep didn't you?" he wears a serious face.

"N-No! What are you talking about?! Pervert!" she throws a pillow at his arm.

"Ouch! That hurts!" he holds his arm and shouts in pain.

"Sorry sorry!" she holds his hand.

For a moment, they both stared at each other in silence while Katsune held Rouji's hand. After a short while, Katsune let go of him and stands up.

"Are you hungry? I'll make breakfast for you." she says as she faces away from Rouji.

"Y-Yeah.. Katsune, your tail.."

"What about it?" she asks.

"I haven't seen that when we met, could you tell me later when we eat?" he smiles.

"Yeah.. sure." she walks out his room and closes the door.

I must be dreaming. To experience this kind of situation is so unreal. There's a beautiful girl with a white fluffy tail at my kitchen cooking food for me. Man, the luck of mine.
