I hissed and thrashed wildly as the wolf-man dragged me like a limp ragdoll down the cave halls. My bare feet were red and raw and throbbing from being dragged across the sharp rocks. People stared as we passed, eyes guarded, hands at their mouths. Yet all I could see was red. Pure red. I was on fire, rage and pure adrenaline shooting through my system. I was feral in every sense of the word.

"Put me down!" I shrieked, aiming a kick at his thighs. The man huffed. "Put. Me. Down." I tried again, trying to sound threatening as my little spindly legs thrashed, doing next to nothing. He glowered. "Now." Nothing. No look, no response. He just kept walking, his head up, muscles not even quivering from carrying me. The dick face.

Whispers ricocheted softly around the echoey cave halls and I hissed, trying to bite the meaty arms of the man holding me. He knocked my head away with his beefy upper arm and I glared at his stupid muscles. His stupid height. Stupid. This sucked. I just wanted to go home with my dad. But I was stuck here, staring at the floor that was tauntingly far away. It was as if the floor was teasing me, telling me that if I was only a little bit taller then I would be able to jump to safety.

"What are you going to do with me?" I cried out, hoping just a little bit that my tiny, innocent looks might gain a little bit of sympathy from the crowd. The odd looks and hushed whispers continued, no such sympathy anywhere to be seen. The man's face was stoney, giving little away. I blew out in exasperation, a chunk of my hair blowing up from where it hung well below my forehead. I needed a haircut. My dad would kill me for letting it get so long when he got out. My mind drifted back to the grimy cells and the gash on my dad's head and the keys I had found. I could still feel the cold metal pressing into my palm and hear the clinking. I had been so close, so close to saving him and running to safety and forgetting about all of this and still, I had been caught. My gut twisted.

"What are you going to do with my Dad?" I tried again, pleading with my eyes, my heart on my sleeve. There was no reaction, just more cold stares. My mind flashed back to the pictures in the dark and what was written on them. I narrowed my eyes at him. Fine then, I guess it's going to be like this. I let my body slump, holding my breath. I felt him tense in panic at my limp form.

"Get up." He growled at me, his voice quivering a little. My heart pulsed heavily in my chest as I stalled for a couple of seconds, waiting. Feeling his muscles weaken, I jumped up and threw out my noodle arms to hit him. I could hear the crunch of bones and felt a stabbing pain in my knuckles. Shaking them out, hissing slightly, I looked up at him. The man had stumbled back a couple of steps and was clutching his bleeding nose, his body curled in pain.

"Whoops. Did I do that?" I taunted, a sensation deep in my gut propelling me forward, egging him on. I could hear crickets and the sound of a rushing stream just out sight. Shaking my head free of the jungle, I focused back on the task at hand. Leaving an innocent expression on my face, my eyes wide and hands held in front of me,  I tilted my head to the side like a young child's. Glowering, the man roared as he charged me. My eyes widened and I sidestepped out of his way, letting instincts guide me. The man's face darkened at least ten shades and he hastily changed directions, clumsy, like a bull.

"Oh no, is the air tripping you up there, buddy. Need a hand?" I held my hand out to him. Something low and dangerous grew in his throat and within the blink of an eye he had jumped up and I was laying on the floor, my shoulder and wrist throbbing painfully. The man's face was inches away from mine, his eyes dark and malevolent. His entire body was tensed, holding me to the cave floor. My body screamed at me to run, but something flickered inside me, some mischievous, dangerous part of me. I was going to enjoy taunting him. Letting a smirk slip onto my face, I watched his eyebrows knit in confusion, his brain struggling to comprehend.
